Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Tempus Fugit - District 9

Few more hours and it will be 13 days till expiration of the West D9 contract, Tick Tock. Bad faith bargaining is continuing to happen, all the company wants is regressive proposals and to say no on any union proposals, 0-34 last count. Appears they are inciting a work stoppage.

Members view your Local’s Facebook or webpage or ask your job steward about mobilization vote/events and meetings because, they will be happening next week. You also may want to go ahead and download your relief fund forms, the links have already been posted. For the latest information, District 9 has a bargaining page which is updated every few days. A fair contract is mutually beneficial for all parties. Unity!

Nah, we will be too busy on the picket line and see if any of the CP actually dispatches to care for our customers and repair outages

Out of curiosity, how many of your union stewards just so happened to take scheduled vacation time when the contract ends? In unity, of course. Happens every time. Worth a look. Crazy how they always seem to be off when walk-outs happen. Might be something to keep track of.

You’ll never walk, no guts. All talk no action. You factory workers will stay on the job with no contract until you concede to huge concessions as the rest of us watch and giggle.

Why do you care? Why do you comment? The Union "slugs" as you call us should be so far below you as to not affect you in any way. We are not needed as you suggest.
We can be replaced by an invisible force of telecom contractors that has been waiting for years to bust the Union, right? What is the company going to call this "Union" busting company this time? Zero Chaos or No Chaos. A minority owned "business" with two employees and a PO BOX?
You comment and threaten because you are SCARED. You know this and you lash out at the Union workers because it is easy. Taking your complaints to "leadership" requires a little more courage.
I get it. If I was as scared and worried as you I might act out in an childish way.

By the way, Tick Tock.....

hello! I wrote this post! I am a L2 in product marketing , not a union slug, and I stand by every word I wrote. :)

also I am not seeing the grammar errors you speak of, I guess on public forums I do tend to speak more casually. enjoy your day!

There will be no work stoppage due to the lack of funds for strike pay. CWA does not have deep pockets or any leverage on the company. Take your one day for informational picketing, and agree to the TA.

Be careful what you wish for, UAW is feeling the impact of their new contract agreement. Unreasonable pay increase come at a price.

Here will be the final TA, most likely.

  1. 4 - 5 yr contract
  2. 5% raise first year, 3% each, of the rest
  3. COLA capped at 5% total raise @ year
  4. Medical stays 29% cost for employee
  5. Small increase in retirement match for cash balance
  6. A few small changes possible, in job security and work rules

That about sums it up, rest will stay the same. This is based off recent ratified Black contract for mobility. The raises are higher than normal due to super high inflation over the past few years and basically a lack of bonus since it’s tied to the stock. These numbers could change and go higher if the company forces the union into a work stoppage and won’t bargain in good faith.

Nor will I.

I'll let the engaged CP workforce that is living "their destination" in their new collaboration zone handle it for the company.

Sign me up, 2 month work stoppage would even be better, I could use the down time. Let some of these legends in their own minds, have it for a while with the same expectations we have to comply with everyday.

Look at how the non bargained fear. They lash out, they demean, they threaten. Empty threats. Insults. All will do nothing to change the facts. We need at least a two week strike to allow them to get their heads sc--wed on straight. 4 to 6 weeks would be better.
They pretend that the Union workforce is not needed, allow us to find out.

Only 3 off at a time because of your value to the company.

I've been here for 25 years. We can't have more than 3 off at a time in a crew of 18. Yes Union slugs don't matter right? That is until they matter. Soon the CP force and "leadership" will find out what matters.
