Unbeatable/Unpassable PIPs

For anyone who's been placed on an unbeatable PIP or knows of someone who has, what has your experience been like and what about the goals was unrealistic?

I've read that some PIPs are designed specifically to be unbeatable. I've also read that a PIP can be ended at anytime and you can be let go, so there is no guarantee you'll even complete the PIP if the odds are stacked against you and the team wants you gone.

They usually start pushing you out when you reach 50. Highly suspicious when they start giving you menial tasks with no visibility and your assignment doesn't leverage any of your strengths….only weakness.

Ill-defined plans are unbeatable.
If a plan doesn't have quantitative and some qualitative objectives to meet - it is not 'beatable.'
at any rate, they'd prefer you move on.

I only know of 2 personally. 1 was LT trying to push out the person to make room for a friend. LT didn’t put a sound plan together to run the guy off. Person fought and came out better in the end due to LT changing. 2 Another is a person deserved a PIP. LT changed early on in the plan. New LT and person allies up and together started running people off or creating a hostile work environment.
It’s all about the people. It’s all about who they put in at LT. I have only seen a couple of folks that were good LT here. The rest are used car salesmen with their used car salesmen buddies.
