RSU Acceptance??

Anyone who received RSUs, can you please tell me if you have been able to accept them in the system? I have no RSUs pending acceptance. So, I guess this means I did not get any? My manager is away on leave for a few months, and we don't really have a substitute manager. So, I asked another manager and they said they have no idea. Now I was out on disability leave in 2023, so maybe this disqualifies me from receiving RSUs?

@1ehp+1rIeVRS0 - there is this wee tiny financial concept called Diversification you may wish to acquaint yourself with.

100% risk exposure to a single stock is sheer stupidity. (anyone remember the employees at Enron...? I didn't think so.)

I have more than enough exposure to this bank with my salary, benefits, overall comp, etc.

So, yea, I sell this dog every year and diversify into other companies with better GROWTH and better DIVIDENDS. (oh, and btw better management)

Cash ain't trash if you put it to work more profitably in your portfolio, dingbat.

Keep drinking your kool-aid, kiddos.

there is a TON of internal education available on how RSU works. go read it. I sold on Friday for $37.50 high but learned a different lesson: wash sale. If you sell within the 30 days that you are also awarded, you don't take the loss because you 'bought' right around when you sold....that was interesting but fine, now I know...

Do I have to go to office to accept my RSUs? I prefer if they send it to me using USPS.

@1zet+1rIeVRS0, yes, call Merrill EFS and ask them. They are much nicer and professional, given they have a license to keep and is on a recorded line for customer experience and compliance monitoring.

I have a CMA and same concept, accounts (RSU & CMA) linked and all vested RSUs plus their dividends automatically go in.

I am lower level and new to RSU as well but just as financially savvy! 👍🏻

you can reinvest dividends by calling benefit online.

They will buy fractional shares and I've kept every RSU.

keep them coming

I have kept every RSU ever given. I'm up 5K above the initial value amount, or so. I'm up over 1500 in dividends.

@1ehp+1rIeVRS0 is correct. Cash is trash.

I have kept every RSU they have given me since they started granting those instead of cash and I am up $178. For people who don't have accountants or tax advisors, RSU are a headache at first because no one will answer simple questions about them. When I called after my first grant because the materials assumed I was an existing investor, I was told "it's easy. Set up a 5RD. Thanks for calling Merrill." My first thought was "what's a 5RD?" For lower bands new to the RSU world it is a challenge at first. The response here to the person who said they are new to investing is the typical response we get: berate and mock instead of helping.

"Instead of RSU, I would rather have cash to avoid the complications of funny math."

The stupidity of some people in this forum baffles me. How do you work for this bank? I have seen a bunch of posts about how RSU's su-k and cash is better blah blah blah

WHY DO YOU THINK ALL THE EXECS GET PAID IN RSU'S AND NOT CASH? Their cash compensation is PEANUTS. You think its because CASH IS BETTER?

You realize that if you had kept all the RSU's they had ever given, you'd be up HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS in dividends, and NEARLY DOUBLE YOUR MONEY from 2020 and prior.

Sweet jesus get an education.

On the topic of RSU, I am relatively new to the concept. RSU are granted and then at time of vesting, portion of them are transferred to a Merrill Ly--h account. Prior to availability in your account, taxes are taken out and whole number shares of RSU left are retained and the partial remainder of funds placed in cash account. Can I reinvest the amount in cash account back to shares? Why doesn't Merrill Ly--h work with fractions instead of placing in cash accounts? Instead of RSU, I would rather have cash to avoid the complications of funny math.
