i feel like its rare to see a VP or even SA anymore everyones a director or SVP. at this point i dont think the title even matters.

is 125k for a K level VP in NJ considered low within BNY or as good as some L levels?
Does a SVP need to give extra notice ?
BNYM gives out the VP title without the pay or reports which makes it easier to be a director as well. The VP position in most cases is more of a financial analyst or senior financial analyst and director is just a senior manager. They like to give titles so employees feel like they have reached something important. The pay certainly isn’t what a VP or director makes at other banks lol.

That's not true. Lots of people are VP or lower. I started as a VP 12 years ago. Never been promoted.
But I would say a lot more are SVP L grade with roles that aren't at that level.
Titles are bs. I'm a VP that has no direct reports.
There used to be a time when being a Vice President was a big deal. Now we make people VP’s 2 years after graduation.
It’s who you know rather than what you know.
The only thing a VP or higher means is you have to give them longer notice before you resign.
Only then they can give 200K+

I was a VP for 13 odd years and I became an SVP overnight because I am an L. Didn’t get more money though.
