Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Albuquerque location

What up with Albuquerque location. They closed half the center. They lease the building to themselves and could pack up the center anytime and leave .. and management is acting cagey. I'm telling you something is up.

It's called a 'Sale-Leaseback' go ahead and read all about it on the internet, 245 Summer same deal. Fido has so many disconnected, but interconnected moving parts, that none of us gets to see the 10,000' view.

Why don’t they just donate buildings for writeoffs and let people work from home?
I heard they were considering the donation of one Merrimack building

They also had a 2nd building at Jacksonville location that they recently let go. Now want everyone to come 50/50... suspicious.

They came in a couple of months ago and said they were closing half the building (which seats Abt 1400). No explanation given except to "cut costs". The half that's open is not enough room to seat all the Albuquerque employees if they brought everyone in. They've let a few people go but deny that there are changes coming. Verizon did the same thing here a few yrs ago, shut down half the building and then laid everyone off a few months later.
