I left at the end of last year, and I cannot believe what I am reading about the RTO tinker toy kindergarten RAG rating cr-p you are being put through. OMG I cannot read this anymore.

A good friend of mine is calling me daily bargaining with God that the RAG gaslighting and multiple wrong answers from a bullying boss stop. Poor guy took a mental health day and is worried about his RTO RAG being artificially trumped down, like they already have from Amber to Red - just to mess with him. I am trying to tell him there is something really, really wrong with BNYM right now, like it's under occupation by sick evil thugs enriching themselves and exterminating everyone by mental health te---r and forced ranking, random drawing straws of layoffs from teams for "wearing yellow sweaters on Tuesday" and "something they did a year ago" and "they made too much money" or any terrorizing witchy random tactic they can think of to pit colleagues against each other to make layoffs seem less arbitrary. Bullying DOES work. If a boss sees you getting mobbed by terrified colleagues and want to really get you as the offering up, boss'll join in and get rid of you ultimately. Bully's stay. At least all of the ones I dealt with.

God, you poor things. I really am praying for each and everyone of you in there. I really am.

Bad swipes fo count. The March fact document says you get in office credit for your bad swipe, and / or in office network connectivity

Yes is real, yes some already been eliminated because of it. Badge swipe not counted now, network activity is. External connection does not count, only internal.

@1gru Yes, back before computers and the internet. Back when we were a manufacturing country and had an agrarian society. Times have changed!

I sometimes do full days in the office, but generally I do 5 - 6 hours. Why? Because 90% of the team I'm a part of is in other locations domestically and overseas. Additionally, my manager is overseas, and that individual does not care one bit how many hours I'm in the office vs home. Therefore, I am in the office the appropriate number of days, and I put in the number of hours I want in office, and do the remainder (plus some) from home. Am I wrong for doing this?

I have worked in the office full time, I have worked from home full time and I’ve done hybrid of both. Where you sit doesn’t decide what kind of employee you are, you do. There are just as many good or bad employees in the office as there are at home. We have had to create working relationships with teams in multiple countries who will never be sitting at the desk next to us. This is just an easy way for the company to reduce headcount without having to deal with a lot of HR paperwork.

I don’t understand why many on here complain about people who come in half days. People who choose to do that often have an agreement with their managers, and are still in compliance with RTO. Giving your time to a company does not serve you. Make the policy works for you and stop being so sour… we need more liberties not less. Especially at a company that prides itself on low pay but good benefits and work life balance. We already lost the benefits … stop fighting for our overlords.

All this in for a few hours nonsense has to stop, only full days in office should counted towards RTO numbers

My teammates WFH all day, then when heading out to gym or bar to meet friends, will stop in for a swipe and stay only 20 mins.

Any confusion, ask a Boomer how to haul yourself out of bed and get to the office every day. People have been doing it since the early Industrial revolution in the 1930s.

What about thousands who are still happily BAH in this company including some very senior people and consultants??? For them, no risk and mental agony of failing these stupid RTO rules, no commuting hassle and cost. Life isn't fair, is it? Will they ever treat all employees the same.

Perhaps those who meet RTO rules should get a bonus - for a change.

@yxv

Why don’t you like it that some of us are allowed to leave at lunch? Each director is allowed to manage their team as they feel fit. Maybe it’s a conversation you need to have with your manager. My team works every day until 7 PM and at any moments notice we can be stuck there until midnight from system issues. Our director told us they would rather us be home during our busy time and there is no reason for us to get stuck there late.

The message I got was it’s effective the first tracking period of the year in January. They take a snap shot each Monday of the new period and give you two weeks to make any revisions and then make another snap shot at the end of the two weeks. Anyone that fails gets an email notice. Two emails and you’re terminated so no severance and even if you only get one warning you’ll get a below expectations as your rating for the year in your review.

The moment you start treating me like an hourly employee punching a clock at McDonald’s that’s when you’re going to get McDonald’s-level work back from me instead of the 50-60 hrs plus that I’m doing now. I’m OK with working extra hours as I’m salaried, but I expect you to treat me as a professional in return.

When I have to physically be in the office 8 hrs a day - fine, but I’m going to start declining all meetings that I take from home or the car outside my normal working hours. Which is EVERY DAY. We’re a global company and I’m constantly taking calls at very off-hours.
