Thread regarding Crown Castle International Corp. layoffs

Still Sinking...

Morale is still low. Colleagues are still on edge with rumors of another layoff. Fiber is for sale and no one is putting in real work over there. IT doesn't want to spend money. Security is a joke with all their policies that have no bite. HR lies daily.

Why in the world did you return to work there? People that were laid off are going back into different roles. Desperation will never move you forward in life. Dummies...

@digc+1rMMBufY I can attest to that! Being the only XY chromosome in my house is tough every few weeks.

@dbvv+1rMMBufY That department must be tough to work with when Aunt Flo is in charge.

I know of a few female managers who have entirely female staff and there have been investigations about it with nothing coming from it.

Our vendors need to be diverse as well and it's hurting our quality and production

A couple of years back my department had a director who was very open about the fact that she would only hire women for leadership roles. The end result was a vast majority of these hires were filled by unqualified people who struggled mightily to do simple tasks. When any company narrows its candidate pool for the sake of being inclusive it very seldom works out. This company needs to have a real conversation about their hiring practices.

“Crown is more concerned about diversity and inclusion while good solid resumes go out the window.”

Yeah, this is definitely true. Hiring people to check boxes has not worked out. I’m not sure Crown will be hiring people in the near future so it’s a good time to scrap the current process and hire the most qualified person always.

Fiber is a huge expense, small revenue, and horrible ROI. It's not where the money is. If you paid attention in the least to our earnings calls or financial reports you'd understand this. Crown has failed at every turn trying to do any kind of construction. They need to start acting like the REIT they are.

For you Tower folks, you've been walking a thin line for years, the towers are up, what more is there? Fiber is where the money is, but no one knows how to run it. Crown is more concerned about diversity and inclusion while good solid resumes go out the window.

I agree, there is no company culture anymore. Mainly too many people up top that really have no clue on how to run a profitable business. Fiber could have been so much more than it has been and towers definitely could have been ramped up instead of slimmed down. The fiber biz is highly competitive and full of pitfalls. Really needed this review, whether they sell or really cut down on these low MRR 5k foot builds. Small cell will be a thing for years to come but that space is highly competitive as well. We need to get back to having towers as the main focus and cut back on fiber. Focus on data centers or anything to dig us out of this hole. Let’s hope we get an answer soon, morale is definitely at an all time low and we need to get rid of this weak “leadership”

Funny. Sounds like you're in a better position, better payscale, probably not the most productive person on your already thin spread team that already has more problems dumped on them than management is capable of caring about. How about if you don't have anything to contribute for the rest of us besides your seemingly perfect advice from the greener side of Crown then leave these threads to the ones that use it correctly. Assuming brown nosing got you where you are. Let it keep you there and out of here

Lots of immature complainers. Just imagine how much some of you will have to START working if you find another job. Help make it something better or leave!

The problem with being shown the door is you can’t hope from noticing there’s a door knob on the other side as you exit…

Don’t look back for that door knob when you move on.

A large part of the reason people have came back to Crown is because the telecom industry as a whole is severely hurting. Everybody in the industry has had layoffs and you can’t just leave Crown and latch onto another telecom company. It’s a really bad situation and it su-ks for everyone. Having a job at Crown is better than not having a job at all I suppose. If you have an opportunity to get out of the industry then run, don’t walk. The days of Crown being a stable place of employment are behind us.

@oll+1rMMBufY: You intrigue me and I have to know your story. Are you a current employee calling yourself an id--t? Or a bitter jilted ex still haunting his old flame's social media?

Absolutely agree. Anything who goes back are fu-kinh id--ts. They deserve to get shown the door again.
