Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Cybersecurity, 4 year old compromise, seriously?

Received today, can’t imagine how bad it will get with the cyber outsourced….

“We take cybersecurity very seriously and privacy is a fundamental commitment at AT&T.

We have discovered that your AT&T account passcode has been compromised, therefore we have proactively reset your passcode.

Our internal teams are working with external cybersecurity experts to analyze the situation. It appears the data is from more than 4 years ago and does not contain personal financial information or call history.”

I find it interesting, that AT&T - a multi-billion dollar technology company - doesn't have cybersecurity in-house to protect it's assets and address hacking situations. They have to go outside the company.

It’s more embarrassing than anything. T is in the news every month for another security blunder.

When Randell major sc--w up with the T-Mobile merger cost us 5 $ Billion, the board humbled him with a 24 $ million bonus instead of the 29 $ millions he was awarded the prior year.
Will anyone now a days be held accountable or will we see the T culture deflection again?

Anyone know how long at&t was aware?

Someone needs to be held accountable for this. We all know this was a result of outsourcing Tech Dev. That was Pam Paris Ian's decision. Lock her up!

“ T is not a technology company . . . they are a communications commodity.”

A more accurate statement has never been made ….

It's interesting AT&T claim " we take cybersecurity seriously" , but AT&T is selling their whole cybersecurity department to venture capitalist.
