“ 5 Days,Tick Tock”

Until we see how spineless you union slugs really are. We all know you can’t afford to stay out for more that 2 days, then you’ll come crawling back. Working under the old agreement because you have no guts…

5 Days,Tick Tock, I’ll make sure my climbing belt and hooks are easily accessible for the legends. Give us a heads up when you climb so we can video you. We need new training videos. Just remember, 3 points of contact at all times and wear your PPE.

Please strike….ah you won’t because you have no guts. You’ll work under the old contract because you have no guts. All talk no action. Can’t wait to see your benefits slashed, your job security destroyed and no long term job security. Nice work D9.

What would really happen if a manager refused to cross the picket line? AT&T seems so loath to be on the hook for unemployment that I’m not sure a threat of “immediate termination” is what would happen. Any idea? Because, well, I’m fully supportive of the union demands. But, I had to go through the ridiculous CP “training” and am scheduled to fill in if/when a strike occurs.

You are correct, no one is your co-worker, you are still in mommy’s basement until they send you the RTO email. Good luck at the office.

What is your CP assignment? You sound scared and constantly lashing out against your co-workers trying to negotiate a fair contract. Don’t worry it won’t last long, the company will get intense pressure from everywhere to settle. Starting with the current President, former President, emergency services, govt. agencies and the general public. It’s just a short vacation for us which we will make more than make back up when we return with OT.

Has anyone on the CP been staged for their assignment. I haven’t gotten a call yet? This isn’t the year to be waiting around, Labor needs to get a TA in place.

Tick Tock, Saturday is expiration. Contact your Local for details and download your relief form. Company is still bargaining in bad faith, they appear to want a stoppage, remember that when contacting your local representative. Been plenty of time for a fair contract to be settled.

“Unity “ in the union is a myth. The only concern for negotiations is for the top tier of union employees, top 5 % in seniority.

D3 and D9 expired same year in 2019 as well. Those of us in D3 were telling you then to wait for us in D3 , and we’ll likely get a better contract together. You know , that whole “unity” thing ? However , the company of course knows this too. So let’s revisit what happened: in July the company made a better offer to D9, one month before D3s expiration , and like sheeps or lemmings , you all took the bait and reached agreement. At the end of the day , there’s no unity. Everyone is in it for themselves. It’s the old adage “divide and conquer” and att plays it well against the union. CWA is short sited and selfish. “Unity” is a slogan , nothing more.

$9.2 million saved.

And just think... If Stankey and his yes-suite took paycuts like real leaders for multiple failures we'd save much more and affect much less people.

“ D9 can wait and we will have a combined stoppage”

Yup, just what we thought. All talk no action. For the last month all you hear is “ we’ll walk” ,now that you realize the reality of how weak D9 is , this is your plan B. You union goofs are funny and too predictable.

D3 SE contract is expired August 4, 2024. D9 can wait and we will have a combined stoppage if, the company continues to bargain in bad faith with regressive proposals and continues to reject any union proposals. Unity in numbers, these two districts represent the majority of the bargained workforce. Time for a fair contract for those who sale, admin, provision, install, maintain, provide customer service, etc..

So much more leverage this year with it being a general election and the two largest D9 & D3 districts (employee numbers) contracts expiring. The company gave managers a 122% bonus, on top of their raises and they exceeded free cash flow guidance. They also revised their guidance over the next two years to include another 2 billion to pay down debt.

Inflation a big issue, there needs to be improvements in wages, medical, retirement, job security and training for future needs.

Southwest Airlines offered their Stewards $20K each to ratify their contract. Think about that. If the unions are smart they will wait until November to strike when the other unions are working outside their contract and all the FTW employees will be off payroll so there will be minimum coverage for the striking workers.

LOL @ the post about this negotiation not being “business as usual”. What was your mafia boss supposed to say to kickoff negotiations? “We expect to negotiate a fair contract at some point close to the deadline. Maybe before, maybe after, but sometime close would be nice.” Get a grip.

Either this board is full of people who have worked at the company for less than five years or the bargained-for employees have lost all common sense.

Thank god for automation and AI.

Led cables, failed mergers, a major cellular network outage, a massive data breach, constant layoffs, an RTO policy that has eliminated some of the best and brightest based solely on location, outsourcing at an exponential rate…

Yeah. This is a company that really cares about public perception, fines, regulations, etc.

You all want a work stoppage so bad that you’ve lost touch with reality. It’s the same bullsh-t union rhetoric - and don’t even bother talking about all the money in the industry. Your “union” is nothing but a money-making machine itself. It progressively does less and less, yet you pay it more and more.

Delusional.

*Strike Baby Strike! Lock-in some big raises and guarantees and drive the entire sh-t show into bankruptcy! *

The math shows the company wants a strike too. Using a guess of 5000 wage scale 12 employees * 40 hours * top WS12 pay = $9.2 million saved. That's not including 401K contributions the company won't need to match. CWA D9 claims to represent 15K members so the savings will be higher.

Feb 24, 2024 Bargaining update #1, excerpt;

“Today, both parties came to the table with opening statements. CWA District Vice President, Frank Arce emphasized fair compensation, improved working conditions and job security. Notably, Vice President Arce made it clear in his opening remarks that he expects the expiration date to be a firm deadline, underscoring the importance of timely and decisive negotiations.”

According to the opening statement by the D9 VP, this isn’t (BAU) business as usual.

There are investigations, fines and other penalties for outages, it’s serious business. Heads roll if one is too bad, seen it before. Happening right now from the one outage a couple of weeks ago. Communications is a critical national infrastructure so the company doesn’t want to play too hard nosed or continue to bargain in bad faith. The heat will ratchet up quickly from the regulatory agencies, President’s Biden & Trump and other emergency services like Fire, Medical, Police, FAA and 911 who count on a reliable, well manned network by skilled employees. 40 or 60 hours of online videos for CP, won’t meet the requirements or legal standards if any outages occur during a work stoppage which is caused by the company acting in bad faith during negotiations.

Lol at the two previous post, that’s what the Auto, Shipping, Hollywood and many other industries thought the last couple of years too, Skippy. Times have changed and workers are tired of losing ground while the rich continue to more enriched, reduce jobs and offshore positions. The divide between the two has never been bigger since, the days of the Robber Barons. The union has leverage through unity, skills and work stoppage, just bargain in good faith for a fair contract and it will be over.

It will get settled at some point, there is no doubt but we will see at what cost. We know members will make up any time off by working longer hours upon return over the next several months and the summer load will be starting soon. Any short term losses will be more than made up in improved wages, benefit wins and working conditions for the longer term.

Cant blame the CP force and sycophants for trying and saying all the old scare tactics, we get it, you are concerned about stepping into a skilled position you aren’t trained on or working an outage(s). No pressure, just the public, govt., military, leadership and emergency services will be holding you accountable.

Has this clown ever been through a contract negotiation before?

Settle down sparky. There won’t be any progress made until the eleventh hour, then you will agree to work without a contract for weeks, then you’ll have a planned three day strike over a weekend that only impacts most of the company for one day, and then you’ll tentatively agree.

After that, you’ll all complain and talk about voting no to ratifying, but you will anyway.

Been the same song and dance for decades. You’re not going anywhere for a while buddy.
