Did anyone find out what caused the Paramount C.O. outage?

High probability it’s a switch isolation, like a previous post said. So check the links or contact whoever is your go to switch tech. There are very few trained switch techs left because leadership thinks the switch should have gone away a long time ago, Id--ts. Too much still runs through the 5ess and dms switches. Good luck!

Shows how much you know again, Poindexter. Everyone has to call on a Juniper and the new RoadM. How many times are you going to show your ignorance. I believe it’s 3 strikes and out, Go sit down, bench material.

Can’t we just use Air-gig?

So, you are supposed to type to a tech in India on your desktop.
The eqpt you are working on is 40 yards away or on another floor.
Most of the 5e or DMS gurus have retired.
But, no one has mentioned important circuits that run via D4 or bridge circuits.
Yeah I know, it is analog copper.
Alarms for buildings, meters at on ramps, fire station/police 911

Switch isolation due to inoperable SS7 links. Call an ET or DT if they’re still around. A wire Tech only knows how install residential service. You could call a manager but they aren’t very technical as of late.

Because nothing ever breaks or needs repaired before or after the contract, you posed an ignorant statement there, poindexter.

We should keep the jobs in the USA. We will close the ticket without fixing the problem ourselves, not some overseas guy.

Call technical support overseas and create tickets that are closed without fixing the initial problems. But think about the money saved.

Interesting how these problems just seem to come up when negotiations aren't going well.

Or change the blown fuses or capacitor that is in the top of the SM cabinet or the multiple wiring configurations in the unit on the back board or a bad shelf or the multiple cards that go bad or comms links or SS7. We could ask troubleshooting questions all day long for those who think it’s so simple. Could be a software issue, translations, on and on we go..

Did you try to power cycle your unit?

Of course Einstein, be smarter, everyone knows that electronics eventually break, there are skilled people (ET) to repair it and the CP aren’t experienced. Everything has a life cycle, if everything lasted forever then they wouldn’t need anyone after installation. Like saying it’s a mechanics fault that a vehicle is having issues after leaving the manufacturer.

This happened with union workers on the job. We won't miss you while you strike.

Just wait, the Union contract is up at end of week. If they walk, this will be a regular occurrence. CP don’t have the experience to work on these kind of troubles or outages.

Feel sorry for those that will have all kinds of pressure on them to correct critical issues with upper management, emergency services and customers breathing down their necks. Just remember leadership and HR has put everyone in this position, it isn’t bargained or CP’s fault.

Probably the local switch is having an issue. They are only dispatching on critical or outage troubles now. CO ET’s have to send an email to get any support if they can’t find or fix the issue. Don’t think any switch support is available on the weekend, the company keeps reducing availability, employees and are shutting down support centers or sending overseas. Basically Tier 2/3 group is gone, even the contractor group.

Was informed that we are going to use online smart chat exclusively and no longer will have any access via phone call to work on troubles. Good for company, bad for employees and customers. I can communicate via phone in 1 minute but it takes 10 times or more to get the same message across via typing. The support group are chatting multiple techs at the same time and lose track or type the wrong message to a problem, already experienced that, easy to take down a large circuit, like a OC192. Not good!
