@2eve+1rQ5oMba Which plan are you on that totals $33k without the subsidy?
Is it the 80/20 +Dental or one of the other plans?

@2eve+1rQ5oMba they do not to my knowledge. They offer an Advantage plan. If your spouse is not medicare eligible and you do not take their advantage plan for yourself, it sounds like you will have to find her something else. In other words, she can't be covered by Vz if you aren't.

I have no subsidized healthcare from Verizon, Retired and use the Verizon healthcare and dental, 2024 cost 33k for 2. Was 24k 5 years ago. Going on Medicare in a few months and was told if I do not take the Verizon Medicare package my wife cannot stay on there insurance. Anyone know if Verizon offer a Medicare supplement package ?. I do not want an Medicare Advantage plan even if Verizon offers one.

I retired last year, couldn’t stand the lack of Leadership integrity and the sc--wing of customers and employees. I was quoted 2500. Told by the Benefits office if I took it for a month and then dropped it for something else, I could come back in the future. If I left w/o taking it, the window was closed. I got recruited by the new market leader and picked up their benefits. Vz benefits are better BY FAR. If you are thinking of leaving in 6 -12 mo’s, go to every dr you can and ensure you get everything done before you go! I did that and am happier than I was the last few yrs at VZ. Every company had pros/cons. Vz’s was the pride I used to feel working for the industry best (when they were the best). Plus the benefits and working for some REALLY good leaders. Those retired or moved here before I moved over. You owe yourself and your family happiness and less stress so make the best choices for you bc VZ will always choose what’s best for VZ

I was in the EPN plan when active and I remained in that plan after I retired (post 2020). But it's expensive. 2024 it's almost 24K a year for a couple, and that's with the subsidy. It still beats anything coverage wise in the market place, so I'll pay for it til I hit medicare.

@ukc+1rQ5oMba Unless they reversed the policy recently, they didn't let new retires sign up for the EPN after 2018. I had the EPN when I was active, by far the best plan. It was technically an "In Network Plan", but it was completely nationwide, & I never found a doctor that I wanted to go to, that wasn't "In that Network"... And do to a health issue years ago, I was checking darn near every major cancer center in the country. And every single one of them was in the VZ EPN.

Last time I looked (2022), it was up to $22k/yr range for non-union retired couple when qualifying for "50% VZ co-funding" (Qualified as "20yrs when they froze it in 2006") Note: same plan cost was under $15k for 2018,when I retired at the end of 2017. Needless to say we are on the wife's plan. When I questioned the cost being almost double the amount they showed on my last year's W2, - code DD... despite it the fact I was supposed to have a 50% discount, they said they did apply the 50% discount. And that ALL retirees are put in a HIGH RISK plan, while Active employees are not calculated at high risk rates for the IRS W2 reporting. (VZ is self insured, so they can say they pay, or charge, whatever they want.)

I don't know what an 80/20 plan is, but the Aetna EPN plan for management retirees (which is top tier) is expensive, even with a subsidy. That being said it also has better coverage than anything on the market place. Which isn't much cheaper. If you aren't medicare eligible, expect to spend a chunk of change on health care.

You can call the benefits office and get an estimate of your costs.
