Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

If you all didn’t know

The legal team formerly chief compliance office had a bunch of layoffs on 03.07. Was many L2’s. And if L3’s no longer had a team under them (believe 10+ or more which none of the L3’s ever had more than 3-5), they’re being evaluated to keep their positions. Systematic way of letting people go/ forced demotions just to stay afloat until you’ve had enough and quit on your own. I hate to see the dedicated employees who are still there suffering like this, but I hope T crumbles in the next few years.

This is not just a T thing - AI is coming to replace these type of jobs, it's an industry trend with large enterprise companies leading the way and the legal profession in general has a lot of exposure with this.

Not to worry we still have the $600k retainer we paid to Michael Cohen so our legal problems are under control.

Oh good, now there won't be so many plastic legal agents investigating and prosecuting employees like us whom they find violate the social media code of conduct - so now it's less likely we'll receive disciplinary action up to and including dismissal. Haha...

I think they will eventually not sure when but it inevitable because no one in the company can admit they made a mistake and change their ways.

This is the d-mbest position in AT&T. They should cut all of them.

They go unto our desks to see if we wrote down a customer name, phone number, ban etc... these people get paid 80k to do this. They also look through our email to see if we emailed account numbers. Even though we have to, when reaching out to other at&t departments.
Meanwhile 70 million accounts he hscked.

As Jeremey Legg always says, you never want to have more lawyers than you can serve with 2 pizzas.

What do you call a group of lawyers in the bottom of the ocean?

A good start.
