The best strategy to take is leave for 6 months to a 12 months (do a contract) and see if the same job or indeed SS&C dont come chasing for you and when they do, make sure that you insist on a crazy uplift from your last pay (shoot between 10-30%). I ave known many who have done that in the Project Manager space.

That’s one way to look at it. Another is that RS is a revenue beast in growth mode, especially with the SECURE ACT 2.0 auto enrollment for 401ks/403bs change. GIDS is a mature book of business who often falls short on their revenue targets. By merging, it may help folks under the GIDS umbrella meet collective revenue targets and that will likely translate to better merit amounts, bonuses and RSU amounts.

No matter what job you have or what company you work for, there will always be the threat of a layoff. Strive to stand out as an indispensable member of your team. Although it’s never guaranteed, if you are a critical team member, chances are you won’t get the “tap on your shoulder”.
