Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

D9 - Bad Faith Bargaining Continues

How quickly leadership forgets the frontline employees who worked through the Covid-19 pandemic while, putting themselves and their families at risk. They helped the company survive when many went bankrupt. Bargaining for a fair contract, stop the greed and offshoring jobs!

“Between 1978 and 2022: Worker pay grew by 15%. Top exec pay jumped by 1,209%. Major US CEOs are now paid 344 times more than their typical employees.”

1965 ratio was at most 21-1, 1989 was 45-1, fast forward to today so, who is being exploited now more than ever? Labor, they are paying in loss of jobs, wages and benefits while the c-suite continues to prosper, without any consequences for their actions.

As been stated before, walk and you may be out for months. Stankey doesn’t care about you or customer service.

I sure hope we're out for months. Gives me free time for my hobbies and some house cleaning!

Without a doubt Stankey hates you managers even more. Just look at the RTO show. If bargained get sc--wed, you'll get sc--wed even more.

Tick Tock, the mouse ran up the clock. 2 Days. A couple of months, sounds about right. Would some of you company trolls put in a good word for us that you will hold down the fort while we picket and rest up for the return?

Thanks, in advance

I learned a long time ago that you are only as good as you are TODAY. Anything you did or sacrifices you made in the past do not matter.

The company knows most techs can't afford to miss more than one paycheck.

There’s a big difference between “bad faith bargaining” and not being handed exactly what you want. Perhaps the union is bargaining in bad faith. Just a thought.

“ It's been over 25 years since District 9 has truly walked. It's time. I want extra time off out of this weather to get my side gig going.”

Please do, but it will be another 25 because they have no guts, all talk no action.

**You act like this is our first rodeo.

This is not your first rodeo?? You've been around too long. Stankey wants you gone! Pink slip in the form of RTO incoming!

You act like this is our first rodeo. This contract will not be settled until next year. Company waiting for cpuc decision on landlines.

It's most of the same bargaining team who have recommended yes votes on past contracts. Except this time we have garbage from 9509.

Give it time, neither party is in a hurry.

Don’t know where you’re getting that “Between 1978 and 2022: Worker pay grew by 15%” in comparison to executive pay statement, but it’s not accurate at all if you’re just talking about union represented employees at AT&T. Union employee pay in the SE region (Old Bellsouth region) has increased by 25-30% since 2005. I don’t even need to look at the other regions to know the same is true for them as well.

Stop coming on here and spreading false information. This is an AT&T focused board, not “workers of the world” central

Ya get the Union officers ya vote for...
Oh,wait. The officers of 9509 voted themselves in
Go figure

Work for several months without the contract until multiple groups are outside their contract. Better yet, wait until 4th quarter when many of the layoffs will be completed and there will be absolutely no one in place in management to backfill. The power of the unions is the numbers.

Contract negotiations is a psychology game. They’re trying to wear down the union.

The company wants a strike. Hopefully some bad weather comes in while we're out.

Tick Tock, 4 days till contract expiration. ULP up next then, a real strike if the company continues regressive tactics. Just what the company needs, more bad press and longer outages while the skilled workforce walks the picket line.
