Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Bring back Mulally to right the ship!

S.S. Ford is sinking. The captain is drunk at the wheel. All of the crew (upper-management) occupy all of the life boats.

There is only one play left. Throw the kitchen sink at Mulally to get him to come back and right the ship. Even if he'll only agree to 3 years. It's Ford's only hope at salvation.

@4vkn good idea but it will never happen. The guy is CEO of CSX, probably makes fat money and knows how Ford operates. If it was you, would you come back? I know I wouldnt and I would give Billy a hearty laugh and the double bird.

Another possible option would be to hire Joe Hinrichs back. It was a HUGE mistake to put Farley up over Joe!!!

Don’t make jokes on Dolly. She is more successful than Ford right now. She has always had better management teams too.

When the choice is between Billy Ford, Mark Fields, James Hackett, Jacques Nasser, Jimmy Farley...Alan Mulally.

I'll choose Alan Mulally every-time.

@1dgv+1rS2EF9a focus and fiesta broken transmission, were they on AM's watch? i guess the 1 liter engine is now blowing up too, can we blame that on AM? that new taurus was way too small inside. and too much upgrade fanciness. not taurus-land everyman car. big on the outside small on the inside. toyota and honda still sell sedans, imagine that. i thought we were going to be rebadging passats and jettas for a minute there... he was right about lincoln, should've ditched that and kept volvo.

Why in the world would Alan come back to this cluster-f? He already proved that he can fix Billy's mess once and then got kicked in the teeth by the same Billy. He's 10+ years older and has enough money to last 2 lifetimes. He fought the good fight and now its his time to relax. A possibility would be if Billy-silverspoons were to go hat in hand to Seatle and beg him to consult on a new structure and new executive team. Or maybe threaten him with a new F150 Lightening delivered to his house every month until he relents.

@1dgv+1rS2EF9a Maybe AM was just OK, but he was able to steer the company from the verge of bankruptcy, and he is still a million times better than the clowns we have now.

@OP. Why would AM return to Ford? He was cut short by Bill, let go one year before his contract was due. Besides, AM had a good record at Boeing and Ford, why risk it on the place that kicked him out? Plus, I am not sure that Ford can be saved. It would take years to right some of the wrongs done by Bill, but not all: some mistakes cannot be undone.

I don’t know why mulally makes everyone wet, he was okay. He was at the right place at the right time. Remember he brought back the ford Taurus which was a failure along with the ford 500. Most of the cars during his time were huge failures like the escort and the focus.

They can start by firing the current vp of vehicle hardware engineering

How a dimwit like that can get a VP job making millions is beyond me.

Billy the silver spoon light weight gave you Jimmy the village idi*t.

Yep, Mulally was a real leader with brains/talent... will never return!

When Government money is spilling into Ford Billy Ford hires all leeches who couldn't operate a 7 Eleven.

How was Hinrichs as a leader? I remember it was between him and Farley before JF took over.

When Mulally was at the helm, it was the only time in my career that I felt like Ford was firing on all cylinders. We were building something and having great success. I was never more proud to be a Ford employee. It didn’t take long to squander the great work he did for the company.
