Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

My management frequently requests that I misrepresent things to protect the organization from the regulators

He thinks he is operating within acceptable boundaries and norms but it makes me really uncomfortable. Maybe this is the old Wells management culture for those that have been around for decades but I feel threatened and scared to speak up. I tried before and he retaliated by putting bunch of lies in my review. His boss is clueless but they seem to have a superficiality positive relationship.

Wow, sounds just like Ed P in COO. He does this kind of stuff all the time but no one is reporting it.

It's true. I have observed this first hand during our small leadership meeting (just 4 of us). He is a Sr. program manager. Nobody said anything because he has many powerful connections and our team members were afraid of retaliations.

conduct, ethics will destroy careers of everyone involved. Right now though the world has flipped, since some employees think they are smart and logging conduct cases that are preemptive. All that will do is ensure you are in the first wave.

OP, if your manager is a Senior program manager, do not reach out to Internal Audit or IRM. These COO program managers were deeply involved with enterprise regulatory programs and they have executive friends in every department, including Internal Audit and IRM. Your career will be sc--wed. It will be better if you report it to the external party as other commentators suggest.

Sounds like the stuff happening in wholesale operations under CG.
That cr@p happens every day there.

Contact Internal Audit. The culture there has changed and now they see themselves more as headhunters when it comes to finding management involved in nefarious things.

Looks like some good posts have been removed by the moderator, I don't know why.
But in any case, do not go to Ethics Line, Internal Audit or IRM. Your career will be destroyed. You should report this incident directly to the Regulators. Heck, go to the news reporters too. Otherwise no one will protect you from their retaliations. Wells Fargo does not deserve to have the asset cap removed. The toxic culture still remains.

I am in IRM and exact same craaaap goes on here. I think $hitty managers are using the new review and rating tool and guidance including the forced rankings to silence employees. What an f’d up system whick does not require evidence and support to before a manager can give employees poor reviews and then prevents the victims from disputing or providing rebuttals.

Intentionally designed to F over employees and left $hitty managers to abuse it.

Sounds like the legacy Wells Fargo Financial or Dealer Services culture.

DO NOT go to the Ethics office!!! they are just their to protect the company (sorry firm) and you will be negatively impacted.

I'd personally try to contact the regulators anonymously if possible, highlighting the issue. Unfortunately depending on the situation it may be obvious that it's you tipping them off.
Retaliation is alive and well here.

File a compliant with the OCC and provide names and ensure you have evidence. We need to get rid of rogue mangers. This is exactly what regulators need to hear before they lift asset cap.

@OP+1rSEKwC4, you can also reach out to the Ethics Office. They are in 2nd line, Independent Risk Management.

Get ahold of someone in Internal Audit. They eat COO Sr managers for breakfast.

It’s the authoritarian US and corporate America culture. Don’t be fooled, this is not a democracy and we are slaves/peasants to the dictatorship. Any complaints will more than likely end your career.
