Ford will be better off without Oakville. That place has been nothing but a sl--e pit for over 30 years. Nothing but poor quality and horrible union bs. I did three launches there. I won’t lose any sleep over that place once it’s gone.

This was the commitment made for the 4th year of a 3 year contract . . . LOL !
Nobody even questioned it. Fords figured out a way to close a plant at the end of the current contract without the current product being sabotaged for the last 3 years of its production run. Slick move on Fords part because come 2027 they will just claim that market conditions have changed and Oakville is no longer feasible. Had Fords informed Unifor that the plant would close at the end of the current contract , every Edge built in the last 3 years would have been defective in one way or another. This is how the company / union relationship has evolved. We all know what bed partners do when they get in bed together.
