Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Low Morale

We recently filled out a "culture survey". Our org has really low moral and everyone is pretty much unhappy. If the results are very low, what does AT&T do about it? What do they do with the managers? I suspect pretty much nothing since the managers here in our org pretty much don't care.

I know of one group whose survey was low. Their Director assigned a bad survey result to each manager and it was that Managers responsibility to ensure it was raised on the next survey. It was also carried on their A&Ds.

The next year they all lied on the survey and said everything was great.

Be careful what you ask for.

This is a job not some romantic relationship where you compromise and try to figure out how to stay together. Stop being delusional about what a job is. You get paid to work and you have the right to leave at the very moment you feel it’s unsatisfactory. AT&T does not need to love you or say sweet things because this is not a love affair. I wish everyone the best.

Writing template of an Att level 4 or higher:

  • We know you have to make a tough decision for your family. We wish everyone the best.

Never report low morale. Otherwise the beatings will continue until morale improves.

C-suite troll? What a stupid condescending response. Just goes to show why things are as bad as they are. Worried that the purchase of your next vacation home may be in jeopardy?

"The point of the culture survey was not to gauge morale. It was for Stankey to see if everyone is buying into his absurd vision for the company."

Bingo! For that reason, the results of the culture survey will be ignored because the 'participants are too stupid to understand the point of the survey in the first place'. Full steam ahead!

This is really a sad state of affairs that Stankey created. I guess he never watched the Leading by Distinction videos that they forced the rest of us to watch.

If you are an employee unwilling to live your designation and decided not to follow your position to its required hub location, your responses will essentially be discarded since you’ve already decided you no longer want to remain with T and will be gone shortly. The main focus for the survey will be employees meeting T’s vision moving forward.

The survey was supposedly run by a very reputable company and has been mentioned on this site. The low level managers hear the results are (as expected) that morale is horrible. Then the company then “passes down” that 3 days RTO is moving to 5 days mandatory in office for some orgs…still, if not in 1 of 7 cities, regardless of performance, tenure, or contribution, the message remains that a geographically disadvantaged worker “isn’t the future of T because the choice was made not to follow the work”… flawless strategy

Seems like the McElf’n’Stank are doubling down. Would be great if some of those survey comments/ results would be handled with the same care as customer data

** They want morale to be extremely low so that people will voluntarily quit without severance **

I don’t plan on leaving.
I do plan on doing less and less work until they lay me off so I can get unemployment.

They will give your bosses a raise and a bonus. That is exactly what they want.

They aren't, which means more morale destruction is inevitable.

Give the managers like $2.50 a head and tell them to order pizza. Then they'll send an email later just prior to the next survey about all the things they've done with the prior feedback....

You have to use reverse psychology. They want morale to be extremely low so that people will voluntarily quit without severance. They only way to get them angry is to pretend you love your job.
