Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Lay off Model e until 2025

Since we aren’t building the new EVs until then, why would we not get rid of that entire organization until then and save $5 Billion per year?

EV is our future. It is the future of the auto industry. USA may be slow to accept that, but it is coming.

Model E is our only hope to compete in this space. We need them now more than ever.

You should all be trying to transfer from Blue to E as fast as you can. Your future careers depend on it.

JF laid off ice and powertrain engineers because we had too many brackets. Gotta fund EV investments. How's that working out Tommy Boy cousin?

What are the 4 key particles needed for the success of EV's in the market here in NA or globally? Protons, electrons, neutrons and mo--ns.

"If we lay off Model E, who is going to develop the new EVs to sell in 2025?"

If we lay off Model E, who is going to develop the new EVs THAT WON'T sell in 2025?

Those who are in Model has been free loading for the past 2 years. It's all BS. I word from home and all that I have done is checking emails and meetings notice. I hate to get paid for doing nothing but that's most of us are doing. Why are we loosing $5 billions a year in Model E. This is one of the reasons.

Because some 'leaders' would look bad. Car buying public has spoken, the people who want EVs have them, the rest of us aren't falling for it.

This makes sense, so Farley won’t make it happen. The new EVs are delayed. The battery plants are delayed. We have zero actual revenue from data and subscription sales. Why would any intelligent CEO and BOD keep a $5 billion loss around when they could just lay them off and rehire in 2025 in LCCs? They wouldn’t, but Ford doesn’t have an intelligent CEO or BOD.

@gap, funny. I’m retired and when I go grocery shopping on Fridays, I’m always in into 2 or 3 of my former colleagues who still work at Ford doing their grocery shopping in the middle of the day instead of being at work. They say they will give Tues-Thursday back to Ford, but no way they will give up their Fridays!
