Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

I got the dreaded April 30th message and it seems promising.

From what I’ve been told it appears they’re getting rid of some contractors. It’s to prep us for the expanded workload. Take this with a grain of salt but it appears likely.

They are buying a fiber company (or part of one) to expand the VZB footprint. This will also give VZ a greater percentage of fiber to the cell towers we are on. Currently it's just over 50% of towers we have our own fiber going to the tower. They want it to be closer to 75-80%.

If they are getting rid of contractors, it will be non-India contractors. Can’t wait for new US President to deport all illegals and eliminate H1B.

I also heard the opposite. More contractors, with the understanding they will be full RTO (5 days a week). Sammy says if employees will not RTO, he'll find contractors who will.

Someone in VZ would call that successful. The less pots lines the bigger someones bonus.

These contractors are pure trash!! Hopefully this is true and we drop the majority of them.

Unacceptable!!! This should be stated in writing and sent to the CEO's office for an apologize to the customer, refunds, and free service forever and ever.

Hopefully this meeting will set the RTO question straight. We need to hear something in regards to this.

@paq+1rUTHiBp "poor customer service" is an understatement.
Next to impossible to get anyone on the phone you can understand, & it took almost 2 weeks for someone to show up at my 80+ yr old dads to fix his POTS line. FThe terminal suitcase cover at the pole is long gone (years) and the squirrels have wires sticking out all over. When the guy finally showed up, he just scotch locked the 2pr to the house directly to a exposed cable pair, and said someone else would return to replace the terminal, because being open, it may eventually affect the neighbors. Yeah... that was June 2023. Rolling up on the one-year mark and no change. The only change, is that I bought him a VoIP Ooma, and disconnected his VZ voice line.

From what I understand, which isn’t much, they’re losing tons of money because of all the errors being made. Especially when it comes to dealing with customers. Too many credits, too much call backs, and poor customer service.

I would really doubt they are getting rid of contractors . They probably want more .
