The position of a Platinum seller is a joke when you really think about it. You are assigned to a set of customers that only you can sell to however others still sell to and there’s nothing you can do about it. Also you can only sell into the pre assigned white space accounts. How is ATT going to predefine a business that isn’t with ATT already. Who ever makes the sale should get paid, whether it’s a rsc, bat rep, sp, or an IHX rep. By assigning them to only a platinum rep, the company stops other sellers from prospecting, they literally think a bigger potential account is already assigned to a platinum seller. Some platinum sellers have only been with the company for 6 months and don’t even know what a TOBR is. Platinum won’t last long, it’s just a step above BAT with shady sales and they will best next.

The benefit of good sales audits is you don't get a large severance if you are FIRED!

They could easily reach their HC goals by simply auditing teams sales and order reporting…..they’d have more than enough to kick to the curb quickly.

I have heard the surplus coming is sizable. Not exactly sure what that means but it sounds big and deep! If version has 105k employees and we have 150 we need to go down by a third. It will be a painful journey for sure......

In addition, T is not making overall revenue, hence the layoffs as well.

The A.I. comment isn’t relevant to the Platinum accounts sales organization reduction concern.

What would be is AT&T deciding to issue more of those accounts to outside solutions providers to own, and reducing the size in-house sales account teams. Which is not just a Platinum item, this approach will slowly eat away at all the business sales teams. They would rather lose 30% of the customers while also losing what is perceived as 75% of the business expense, and then keep 60-70% of current market share with substantially less cost. Those are made up numbers, but somewhere that’s the financial discussion occurring.

“What amount of customers will AT&T lose by outsourcing sales, compared to what level of cost expense reduction will be had”. There will be a loss as account teams handle all the junk that keeps a customer with AT&T and have part of their pay tied to existing billing revenues. SP’s usually only engage if a customer is willing to buy something, otherwise they generally could care less if an account leaves for a competitor.

RTO & Hubs doesn’t apply to reducing sales headcount. The strategy for that area of the company is 3rd party solutions providers. Logo reputation will continue to deteriorate, but less and less of a concern. I believe over the next 2yrs is the implementation timeframe.

Layoffs end of this month through July. Mostly L2-L4. Saying it’s due to AI. Automation and or location will be the official reason for upcoming layoffs — real reason is due to costs from outage & slow subscriber growth.

Platinum layoffs. Is this when they get rid of the rest of the old people?

No. It is when AT&T continues to tidy up and remove FRAUD from the business model.
This is a good thing.

None of this seems like substantive info. Anyone from the management class have any real insight?

There is the same level of sales fraud in this segment that was found in BAT and others. Reductions will be very, very easy. Very, very simple audits will reveal the most basic, ignorant violations. There wont be any surprises, particularly from those that have operated in what they would term”gray areas”.

Might as well, platinum is just one step above BAT but do the same thing. Most of Bat is gone now.
