Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Saw something I shouldn't have....

I've been surplussed and roll off in another month or so and have seen a spreadsheet (won't say how) that the higher ups are using that is full of names of just so many layoffs coming from now until the end of the year. Also, people that have already relocated or are in the process that have been told their jobs are safe are actually not safe but they don't know it yet. Also, people that have said they were moving and have until the end of the year, but are most likely "lying" (as determined by T), are now on the list but they don't know that yet either. There is some seriously shady stuff going on, I'll be curious to see if any lawsuits come out of this. Not that they'll win of course. I know many of you will say I'm a troll but I swear I'm not. Just trying to tell other to not think you are safe for one second, even if you were told you were. And if you are moving for this company, you are crazy and good luck to you.

To the op who wrote the following, yes, i have heard of it.

WARN is not only a Federal Warn ACT, some states have specific WARN requirements.

IMO.....AT&T has been a master manipulator of laying off individuals in lower increments, targeting specific geographic areas and utilizing the timing requirements to spread layoffs in waves to stay just below many of the WARN notification requirements, whether Federal or state.

"Ever hear of WARN Notices - Worker Adjustment & Retraining Notification Notices (WARN)? Federal law (and some state laws) requires all companies with over 100 employees to publish WARN notices on their website for the public to see. Using Texas as an example, the link below from the WARN site identifes those companies. I've used it to locate T layoffs in several states.

After opening, scroll down 'till you see "2024."

Every VP and above was stack ranked and that is the list Stankey is using to push people to early retirement. Hold on to your hats, it's about to get crazy!

The account manager is not sharing anything special. The details of the surplus calendar have been shared multiple times on this site.

I had an account manager send me the schedule of layoffs. I will say this. There will be layoffs every month except December this year. I have no idea as to what orgs will be impacted, but it is my guess that everything and everyone is on the chopping block. If you’ve been here over 5 years, are older than 50, are high in your salary range, are white, and a man, I would be looking for a new gig.

“lol. They haven’t laid off wave 1 yet. Lots of wave 1 yes’s haven’t moved and carry on, being lightly harassed by HR. It’s April. If you are wave 2 and said yes, don’t move, you’ll be here till end of 2025 I bet.”

This is the way.
Just say ‘sure’ and never move.
Take your time, find a new job, make T pay for it.

Lay off all that is required to maintain the promised benefits to retirees. Cut pay and hours if necessary.

I also saw something I shouldn't have and I wish I didn't because it's causing me trauma. I was sitting on the toilet at work taking a $chitt and the fat gal in the next booth fell off the can and exploded massive amounts of diahria on the floor and she ate it!

AT&T employees are not locking down sharepoints. Found more than I would like to admit. Also, the data compliance team is not monitoring SPI or PI information. AT&T is out of compliance with just about everything.

All the people who said ‘No’ know they will be laid off. Some may actually know the off payroll date. If the people who said ‘yes’ don’t move by Dec, then they will be laid off with no severance. This is not a big reveal. In ATS, 50% have said “No way, Jose” to relocation and management is fine with that.

I heard about a current executive that went into the women’s restroom and wiggled an appendage at a female employee recently. She’s a proud owner of an NDA now. See if your spreadsheet has that in it.

Leave those people a note or go tell them. If that was going to happen to me, I would want to know before spending a bunch of money.

Roll off in a month or so? How have you been surplused with no end date?

You said —- Also, people that have said they were moving and have until the end of the year, but are most likely "lying" (as determined by T), are now on the list but they don't know that yet either.

Is T using AI to determine people are lying?

You didn’t see a spreadsheet. That’s now how this works.

While yes, of course there will be layoffs, your post is otherwise completely fabricated.

New T business model. Layoff to profitability! Keep laying off people until the stock hits $60 per share! Don’t worry Wall Street. You ain’t seen nothing yet. Forget about the debt that’s just book keeping. It’s all about layoffs to profitable!

There is no secret list . If Wave 2 employees chose not to move, they know they are on the list. They essentially added their name and should be fully prepared to leave shortly due to their choice.

This post has no new info. We all know waive 2 people are going to be laid off between April and December. So layoffs are planned for the remainder of this year. And those who agreed to relocate, I would not be so sure if you are safe. You can be easily released at any time due to changing business needs. If economy worsens and we hit recession the cuts will be even bigger.

Most people at T are like the band on the Titanic. They keep playing while completely ignoring the rising water. You don’t have to believe any of what is shared here, yet you’re here reading, hoping for the best. Hope is no strategy folks, the reality is that over the next 24 months you can absolutely count on 30% of your work neighbors exiting the business. Either through layoff or rebadging. Continuing to convince yourself otherwise is simply unfair to yourself, your family and your professional future. But hey, whatever let’s you sleep at night.

Well..out of the blue after 2 years of the RTO cr-p rolled out at least for our business unit, TODAY was the first time our leadership mentioned and “reminded” us that there are reports being pulled and monitored showing RTO violations with the employees’ names and those that “violated” the RTO fuggin rules have been notified and contacted. This only means one thing to me, bigger layoffs are happening soon and these schmucks are going to use the reports to meet their headcount target.
Dear God, please and I beg you to punish those leaders with bad intentions and protect the innocent hardworking people from them.

Not going to risk my source and of course HR has that info. Maybe I’m in HR? Hmmm. But I’m not sharing anything and I don’t care if you don’t believe me. Just don’t believe anything they tell you if they tell you that you are safe, especially if you are relocating.

Most states are at-will work states where you can get fired/laid-off for any reason or no reason. I don't know how anyone can file a lawsuit for being fired without cause. And also, I bet you AT&T has an army of highly-paid lawyers.

You are full of cr-p. No one has about of such names but HR and only when decisions have been made about whom to layoff. No manager, Director etc has a list of those names until they get released due to pending layoff (within 10 days)

Exactly. It’s an anonymous site and you’re gonna be gone in two months but you’re too scared to post how high? Forgive my skepticism
