Have you RTO

Are you back on the office or waiting for march to apply for the remote option ? If in the office, is it busy ?

I went in last week for three days for a trial run before next month. I am absolutely not going back to an office. There were people with their shoes off under the desk, people eating their stinking lunches at the desk and the noise was insufferable.

If Dell is insistent that we return to the office then they absolutely have to put some policies in place that everyone must adhere to or there will be fist fights.

I don't care what the implications are, I'm not going back in there.

@xqo+1raWJSGc, yes, there is truth to that.

open floor plans are loud and tough to have customer calls when everyone around you is sc--wing around and being loud. It's not productive at all.

Oh great, an open floor plan, which studies have shown time and again to negatively impact productivity. Can't wait to go to an office surrounded by folks on zoom calls with people in other states and countries because no one they actually work with is located in the same place.

That's of course assuming you even get a desk, as per the FAQ and Dell facilities, they've stated there may be constraints on many offices "so just find an open common area".

This rollout is comically bad.

T/W/TH are busiest. M/F fairly empty. RR1/RR3 renovated and open floor plan. RR2 not fully renovated and no cafeteria service. Come Q2 unsure how everyone will find a space.

I won’t be going in. They say “oh well then you can’t get promoted” but it’s been years since there were actually promotions. I am in an org with over 700 people in it and they sent out an email congratulating the 7. Yes, SEVEN people who got promoted going into Q1. I’m not taking a pay cut to drive into an office to sit in a corner to hop on zoom calls because everyone on my team lives in different states. To put it bluntly if they want to lay me off for staying remote then go for it because I, much like everyone else on my team is too burnt out to care anymore.

Dell does not want a future with expensive near retirement hybrids.

Your loyalty and devotion to the Dell cult will actually be mocked by your superiors.
Hard pill to swallow. I hate to burst your bubble.

The remote lost is the new redundancy list. Anyone choosing remote will be saying they don't want to have a future with dell

I mean as a remote you are NOT going to be an increasing cost by nature since you are forgoing raises/promos/etc.

I think those are idle threats against remote.
In the end they will cut where it costs them the most. Also with remote you are going to be an increasing cost by agreement.

The irony is the older you are and near retirement the more hybrid inclined.
Last time I was in office there was no one below 50. These are the higher salary employees

So they will have to cut from the hybrid more than remotes unless they want to run a retirement home. They really didnt think this through

if you choose remote doesn't mean you'll be granted remote. I've been going in and Tues , Wed and Thursday are busy in Hopkinton. Cafe isn't fully staffed and everything is cashless. Friday there is no cafeteria service at all, just the cafe on the second floor. THere is no cafeteria at 171, not sure if that will be changing soon, so folks come over from 171 to 176 to add to the volume of people. They should be allowing food trucks to show up, that would go a long way with people. Not sure the decision makers have fully flushed things out and from meetings I've been in, I don't think the senior leaders are fully on board with the whole RTO thing, especially since most of them were home during the meetings.

True but you are more likely to get wfr'd if remote, it basically says that in the FAQ

There’s zero incentive to come back to the office. Marking yourself hybrid only opens you up for NOT hitting the 39 days in office, promotions aren’t happening the first half of this year, and you can still get wfr’d regardless of your job location.
