Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Finally, Maria is going! Best thing to ever happen to Cisco, get rid of her!!

Great news Cisco team, the most worthless leader in Cisco's history, is leaving! There's hope for Cisco!

Now, take further action and immediately get rid of her sycophants. If Cisco is to survive, they must fire Alistair Wildman, Harry Caldwell, Jason McClaren....and many more, but start with those for immediate success!!!

@ofc+1ragOUqZ Cisco isn't an engineering company. It's a sales company and the sooner you understand that the sooner the current mess will make sense. It's all about the sale, everything else, software quality, after sales support, being able to actually deliver what was sold this decade is secondary.

She destroyed TAC and did absolutely nothing with value to bring CX forward. Cisco has become too bloated with ELT and management with no clue what Cisco is all about. All these layoffs will result in good talent to go to twh competition and shows with the lack of innovation in house and have to purchase everything. I see Cisco going the way of IBM, a great company with incredible talented roots being destroyed by MBAs. In a few more years, Cisco will be irrelevant since they are loosing the HW market share and we all know Cisco SW is pretty bad.

Googler here. Google is doing exactly the same thing now. We will meet again in few years on a similar thread where Googlers will be bashing someone. Maybe Sundar?! LOL. This country is just a big hot potato.

It's about time! I still remember the joke was, that when she started, the Company tagline whet from We Are Cisco to We Are Salesforce. :)

I have Joe at the local gas station that needs a job. I think that he will do much better than what Maria has done. Maybe that is too much of an upgrade from Maria.

I remember her. Who hired MM? Was it Chuck?

I was directly involved with a few 'on-boarding' meetings for Maria during her first month at Cisco. During one of those meetings, we had to teach her the difference between sales (bookings) and revenue. She had ZERO P&L mgmt. experience. Between this and the numerous inexperienced Salesforce hires at Director level, I immediately updated my resume and was gone shortly after. It will take years to clean up the mess she's left behind.

MM was the single most negative influence on Cisco. Ever. Period.

How the board let this fiasco go on for 3+ years and give her expanded responsibilities is unfathonable.

Have we turned a corner where we are allowed to say things out loud? The only profile that people should be hired against is the ability to lead and execute - not how our ELT has been hired.

The board now needs to look at itself and cut out the cancerous notions and re-focus on what our customers need and how we can provide it to them, improve our ability to compete, get rid of non-productive roles and enable the sales teams to sell our portfolio of capabilities based on its merits not just their relationships.

Let's Go Cisco! Now is the time. Rejuvenate this place.

maria created an environment where giving honest feedback was impossible. Anyone that didn't snap to attention and tell her what she wanted to hear was pushed out. Hopefully those spineless leaders down to at least alister are all canned. Hiring incompetent hacks so they could come off as some sort of diversity champions has destroyed the company.

The problem with Cisco is that is an engineering tech company that doesn't listen to engineers and MM has been a key port of this madness. It's fu--ing nuts. Unless Cisco start to put the current madness behind them and start listening to tech people the company is fu---d.

I'm waiting for another message that Thimaya is leaving, too. He's as worthless as Alistair and Maria. Who brought in Thimaya? As worthless as he is, it had to be Maria. I was at GCAB a few years ago, and customers couldn't escape Thimaya fast enough. They thought he was a bag of hot air, as worthless as they come. All talk, no action. He talked about visiting them, and they said don't even think about bringing him around.

IMO, One of the worst things Cisco did for CX was bringing Jacqueline Guichelaar. I was happy when she left, but nothing changed. The mess created by her became irreversible.

As much as I am happy to see mother of V2mom leaving, I dont think anything will change, unless Cisco starts listening to Customers and Engineers. Its been a top down approach for a long time now.

The constant acquiring of companies and non stop reorgs need to stop. With each re-org each leader brings their hidden agenda to show their charter or usefulness, which has nothing to do with cisco success.
We are company in dump already and all Cisco IT does is using licensed products. Wherever possible we should use opensource.

I hope Chuck called Joe Pinto to get him back to fix TAC. The Problem is Joe's wicked smart and good; he knows the mess she created, and it will take a decade to undo it. Oh, wait, Joe's over 50 and a white male. What am I thinking? Chuck won't call him to fix anything that doesn't fit the plan. If Chuck would look in the mirror, he'd have to fire himself for being over 50 and white. I heard he stopped looking in a mirror once he became CEO.

Unfortunately, we will feel the damage she caused for years to come. However, there is light at the end of the tunnel to undo her mess. It will take years and be painful before it gets better. I agree they need to get rid of Alistair as well. He always boasted about how Maria was his mentor. He's such a turncoat, fake, worthless leader he'll turn on her until he leaves. He's so fake. Amazingly, he came from Europe; they're great people, but he's the outcast. There is only one reason he's in the USA, Maria. I hope leadership recognizes they need to terminate Alistair and several of his underlings.

Now maybe we can get a real COO back, a real service leader back and someone who isn’t afraid of the customer. The best thing Chuck could do is pay Joe C, Joe P, Tom B, and either Gary or Rob to come back and fix the mess that she and her SFDC minions created.
