Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Chuck - When is Fran leaving?

Why is Fran needed to run Policy and Purpose for Cisco? All I see her need is for HR - end of story.

John Chambers used to manage policy leaders himself. Which makes me wonder what Chuck actually does now that he is also remote in Georgia.

The hypocrisies of this ELT are so wide ranging it’s so bad.

Coming back to Fran - I don’t understand how paying her for these bogus roles helps the cause of women in the workplace. That wasted money should be going to hiring more women that can help contribute to the betterment of Cisco.

Let’s not overlook that wokeness benefits ciscos costs. Candidates that get those opportunities may be more likely/willing to accept lower pay.

I see a lot of people on this board thinking that all of Cisco's woes are due to one or a handful of people. As a "software company" you're software has been garbage for more than 30 years, so you can't blame DEI which has only been around for a short time, and mass offshoring was barely a dream back then. You also can't blame the ELT because at a company this size the critical decisions about how software is developed is done far below the ELT. Your four broken operating systems were faux "designed" by "technical leadership" that wasn't. The failure to do the low level work correctly is entirely on the low level people who simply can't do it which is where most of your development budget goes to die. Cisco's failures are from top to bottom and from beginning to end.

Getting rid of Fran is not for wokeness - she is a waste of money.

If you get rid of Fran, you still don't get rid of Cisco Wokeness. As long as Blackrock holds shares of Cisco, Cisco is beholden to Larry Finks commitment to responsible environmental, social and governance investing. Remeber, Chucky's on Blackrocks BOD, so he's in lockstep. From my perspective, Franny's golden as long as Chucky is around. If he bails or is outsted, then the new CEO will need to bring in his or her own brand of wokeness that's acceptable to Blackrock. If not, the stock will get cratered by Fink...

When the mission is no longer crystal clear to an organization, chaos begins to reign and those that thrive in a High School like pecking-order thrive. Bullies, clowns, blowhards, and sycophants get the microphone, and don’t let it go.

For, missions drive responsibility and accountability — without which, you have destruction.

Read history…its full of this.

@wku+1rbmu52o I’m no fan of John frankly we need a more technical based CEO.

Sales and math guys will not cut it the way I see it.

We have the same situation with Chuck as well. Massive layoffs and to your point we had the same with John.

Can someone explain why are we wasting so much of our company’s hard earned cash on wasteful and bogus ELT positions?

I hope for the sake of the hard working employees that Cisco doesn’t become the next HP (remember the acquisition that doomed them) for the lack of thought, foresight, sluggish execution under Chuck.

I hope they get this big buy right - but I’m concerned whether they can pull this off. Scary times ahead for Cisco

csco does not need more minorities, more offshore and H1Bs, or more women. csco needs the best people for the job period. That would solve a lot right there. Being agnostic and truly equal is not a csco thing. They discriminate for the sake of "social equity". They admitted as much on the beat about determining who was on the lr list. Really, it's pathetic to get on a call and hear "leaders" axing what your pernt was. Do better, hire better, have the same rules for everyone, not a second set because of race. Again, csco does. Open a case on a non performer that falls into the "protected" category.

Their feigned sympathy and concern was disgusting today.

One man who was presenting today even said something to the effect of, let's not focus on the layoffs, let's look at the positives of AI.

WHAT A JERK......4000+ people m as you find it hard to find a positive.

John Chambers used to manage policy leaders himself.

That's how Cisco got quarterly layoffs, four perpetually broken operating systems, a plethora of failed products, a stock that went from $82 to $8 and after 15 more years was at $25. Good job 👍

She is currently recharging for the next 10% in August. Everyone down played this round like it would not happen.
