Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Real Story behind MM - facts others might have missed - she ruined Cisco

What concerns is this took so many years to figure her incompetence. Within a year of joining, MM fired every one working in leadership at CX and TAC. This way there was no threat to her position and power!

She then brought her loyal lieutenants whom she brought from Sales force, deployed Sales force tools, providing ample revenue to CRM that helped her stocks gain from CRM.

She then deployed dreaded V2MOM across Cisco which made NO sense, and no one liked but dutifully cut-and-paste and propagated across the corporation.

Somewhere along, she was made COO, allowing her to promote her gang within.

All of this was missed until now when her own V2Momma - methods and measurements didn’t do anything to Cisco bottom line. Numbers spoke for themselves citing incompetency on her and work.

The loss in CX and TAC will take years to recoup, and Cisco may never recover.

"Doing 6 years of mumbo jumbo , getting paid for it. Speak so bad publicly that you are not asked to appear. And get fired with 33mil on the bank."

She was paid to layoff employees, and did a fantastic job at it.

I was a Sydney TAC Engineer who was let go via. Lay-offs under her rule. My Team Leader and I worked dutifully and long hours and loved our Technology (DC RS) and Customers. We would always go above and beyond for the CU and the Brand. We were dumped along with the rest of the Sydney centre 3 years ago.

Good reddiance. Incompetence, empty words and zero technical skills in a high tech company.

Robbins is to blame for his ineffective leadership in the company's direction, dealing with marketing trends, hiring of the ELT and acquisitions. He should have been removed years ago but the BOD is asleep at the wheel.

The hiring of Geri to lead sales and MM to lead CX / COO, list of poor acquisitions including the latest with Splunk, is a doubling down on stupid.

Anyone remember 'The Network. Intuitive' ? That was Robbins directional charge when he became CEO.

You gotta respect her in a way. Doing 6 years of mumbo jumbo , getting paid for it. Speak so bad publicly that you are not asked to appear. And get fired with 33mil on the bank.
I would sign for it. But then again i still have some form of ethics (yes even after eons at Cisco )

Bay Area is too expensive to run a huge enterprise. House prices and rent are too high. Private and public universities charge a lot. Cost of living is going up all over the world.

No wonder companies are in a loop with layoffs every years and outsourcing jobs to other countries.

Bay Area is victim of its own success. Everyone in tech is overpaid and companies cannot sustain such big compensation.

Do you know how bad it was really? All the CX branded presentations, logos, color palettes, etc were straight from Salesforce. The comms team were given all Salesforce presentations for customer experience and told to rebrand them with Cisco logos and it went from there. Nothing original or consideration for what was in place. Just drop in the strategy from Salesforce and try to rebuild that same org from a software company into a hardware company. What could go wrong? The jig was up 3 years ago but ignored and no leaders were left to stand up to it as they all had been fired.

V2MOM started at Salesforce and it is indeed terrible. Given how it started - works as "top down", and how Cisco culture and customer value the Collaboration (OKR based) based approach this is doomed to fail.
It went back to the top with "know it all" mindset, making decisions without Customer input / Field Engineers input & execution with a very different vision too.

A typical con story. Have to hand it to her.

No one liked her or thought she was competent, and her termination was long over due.

She got herself an excellent package with $33m, allowing her to settle in her dreamy Costa Rica where she built a palace from Cisco wealth. All this while working class employees were LR’ed and struggled.
