@jfmj+1rc9PHz4 Potable water is one of the first key factors of civilization. This and the 110 dialects of India language and the fact that the workers have to find water before they go to work.

Lets look at the data: Per https://www.wellsfargojobs.com/en/jobs/#content
Here is the count and the country of the jobs.
650 India
126 Philippines
4 Japan
1177 USA

I want to see how this aligns with the bank deposits' country of origin. Does WF have branches and/or customers in India?
The India jobs are interesting. A "Lead Product Manager" Product Owner for a Home Lending business to optimize products for our customers. What the heck do India people know about US customers? Their needs etc. Tell me how they can possibly have "deep knowledge of customer behavior to act as their voice in discovery and product refinement".

Most of the job descriptions contain a heavy dose of agile... "collaborate with a variety of agile delivery teams, partners, and stakeholders". It will be interesting. But it appears they want to offshore product development.

You can get alot more information. Looks like they are going to supplement/replace/automate risk management with archer. https://www.archerirm.com/. And the roles have changed. They are producing the solutions... not the US. Now they "have to work with US teams and provide the necessary support to implement the solutions and provide the support until the solutions are in steady state."

I have no idea what they are talking about. In about 5 years from now, this board will be populated by only Indian speaking commentators.

I know folks in Bangalore don’t speak the same language as Hyderabad. I said what language do you use to talk to each other. ENGLISH. Seriously? Now the bigger issue with them and i can’t stand it but they are incomprehensible English. They may as well be speaking a different language and they make it like they are speaking perfectly. TRY AGAIN. They are getting real pompous with the attitude like “oh, we are taking your job” then i like to say oh really…..you may need to start working all your night long because 3 hour cross over time isn’t cutting it. I wonder if they actually work. Seem to do my chit chatting in the US off hours then actually doing something productive

Figure the OCC will only allow a certain ratio of offshore to onshore. Generally you should have no less than 10% management on shore to 90% off shore. Most companies struggle to get to 30% onshore and 70% offshore.

Just follow the math.

Just some more offshoring operating costs to consider. India isn't as homogeneous as US citizens think it is.
Given the operational setup of your bank with offices in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad, where different languages are predominant, the recent amendment to the Kannada Language Comprehensive Development Act 2022 may pose some operational concerns. Here's an analysis:

Compliance Requirements: The mandate for businesses and establishments to display Kannada prominently on their signage in Karnataka could lead to compliance issues, especially for businesses with offices across multiple locations where different languages are spoken. Ensuring compliance with the Kannada language requirement in Bengaluru may not directly impact offices in Chennai and Hyderabad, but it could necessitate additional efforts and resources to ensure compliance with local language regulations in those regions.

License Cancellation Risk: Non-compliance with the Kannada language mandate may lead to the cancellation of business licenses in Karnataka. While this directly affects businesses operating in Bengaluru, it may indirectly impact the overall operations of the bank if any of its vendors, partners, or clients in Karnataka face license cancellations. This could disrupt business relationships and operations.

Communication and Understanding: Although the language requirement is specific to Karnataka, it's essential to consider the broader implications of language differences within the organization. Communication and understanding between offices in different linguistic regions may require additional efforts, such as translation services or language training, to ensure effective collaboration and coordination.

Legal and Regulatory Risks: The amendment to the Kannada Language Act underscores the importance of understanding and complying with local regulations and laws in each operational region. Failure to adhere to language regulations could result in legal and regulatory risks for the bank, including fines, penalties, and reputational damage.

Customer Experience: For banks serving customers in Karnataka, ensuring that signage, communication, and services are available in Kannada may be crucial for enhancing the customer experience and meeting regulatory requirements. However, this may not directly impact customer interactions in Chennai or Hyderabad, where different languages are spoken.

Overall, while the Kannada language mandate directly impacts operations in Bengaluru, it's essential to consider the broader implications for the organization's operations, compliance, communication, and customer experience across all operational regions. Implementing strategies to address language differences and ensure compliance with local regulations will be crucial for mitigating operational risks and maintaining seamless operations across all offices.

In order to address these concerns, the bank may need to implement strategies such as:

Conducting language training programs for staff in branches outside Bengaluru to ensure they can effectively communicate and comply with the Kannada language mandate.
Establishing clear communication channels to inform staff about regulatory changes and compliance requirements.
Implementing centralized monitoring systems to track compliance with language regulations across all branches.
Collaborating with local authorities and language experts to ensure compliance with local language laws while maintaining operational efficiency.
