AT&T Network Outage

Wanted to seek input from Someone within the Network Unit if the ROOT Cause of the outage was identified. Serious responses only Please.

I retired from the company about 5 years ago.

My service is now restored here in Oklahoma and it is at about 1:15pm.

I thought this is why labs tests new software and major configuration changes. The Middletown team did an awesome job. Too bad they were let go!

confirmed, Legg's tecdev offshore software update knocked out 100+million customers, and told customers to use the landline for emergency 911 calls....Stankey needs to own this hairy issue

Agreed. The time this happened is usually a change window. Nobody ever test the rollback plan.

It basically is the classic outage scenario where a change implemented in the maintenance window had an impact to the network that was clearly not anticipated. Too soon to tell whether straight up human error or an issue with a MOP, etc. I am sure the finger pointing is well under way. Great timing with all of the execs in Dallas this week.

This is a troll post. No real retirees have T service since competitors are much more affordable than the retiree discount.

it doesnt take too much imagination to think massive servive outages might be the consequences of layoffs. All of the people i worked with to vet new network software, are all gone now. At some point the brain trust will be gone.

Combination of things, heard it was internal sabatosh. The domino effect resulted in the outage.

Lol you can’t look for ‘serious answers’ on here, plus this supposed to be a board for layoff info.
