Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

AT&T Outage

No one will be held accountable! Stankey will be on to the next major sporting event to hand out a trophy!! The best thing that could happen is that T-Mobile buy out the company and clean out the AT&T management!!

Isn't the ATS supposed to write the MOPs, validate them, and be on the call when the work is being done? Low level specialists only type in the commands.

How did the world make it pre-cellular days, when there wasn’t a pay phone on every corner? Oh what a calamity, I can’t use my phone for a several, Gasp!

This is what happens when you don't test new software images as well as major configuration changes. The Middletown NJ labs did an awesome job saving the company and major customers from issues such as this. Sure they were expensive, this took time and equipment. Several software environments including automation were duplicated in labs for testing prior to implementation. Too bad they were let go!

I guarantee you that the poor slob that executed that MOP will be held accountable (read: Buh bye) . As will the rest of schlubs that are anywhere near network or coordinating / scheduling any maintenance window work.

Legg said this :

He is such a fool!
He also said “ so what if we get outage tickets” as he explained his rationale for more offshoring and cutting the maintenance costs for maintaining our systems.

“ In the wise words of our dear leaders... if they (customers) don't like it (the outage).. THEY CAN LEAVE!!!”

The best part of the outage was T advise to customers to use the landline. What a joke and disrespect. If I were T customer, I would switch my service to competition in a blink on an eye.

Yes, that will everything, let's work for T-Mobile, how many have they been compromised in the last 3 years, it was 3 just last year. Yes they are competent and obviously have quality processes in place. Sound like a place you should work...

No one this board could have made any difference in the network outage.

How’s that (Return To Office) working out with all of the new “collaboration” in person!? It surely would have prevented “the application and execution of an incorrect process” during network expansion, right? Glad thousands were let go and thousands commuted for “how they connect” to collaborate on business continuity.
