Black Eye on FirstNet!

This is not a good look for FirstNet! That has been a source of some big contracts!!

This gave my retired a-s some PTSD!

My initial thoughts….

  • 4AM - prime change window - human error
  • Maybe a bad configuration in BGP

Also me … ahhh sc--w it!!! they will figure it out eventually…. I’m going back to sleep!

Firstnet was indeed down, it recovered much quicker than the consumer platform probably due to the much lower number of users

Someone asked: "What do you mean by BGP?"

What everyone else means by BGP: Border Gateway Protocol. It's how routers inform each other of routes.

If anything it's good for FirstNet because it didn't go down. Not made up first hand knowledge in addition to co-workers whose first net phones also worked and other nationwide reports

So local LEOs that didn’t have service were sold “FirstNet” service but not really on FN because they were down??? That’s even worse!
