Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Don't get too happy this is almost over

As soon as one round of layoffs is done, the next one is in the planning. It's only a matter of time before the whole cycle restarts.

whoever decides to buy a house and a new car because they survived the layoffs, don't be surprised when they're the first to go in the next wave

I’m just glad we have a 401k instead of a pension. They’re draining value from everything they can touch.

If you’ve survived and aren’t urgently seeking employment elsewhere after this week, I don’t know what to tell you. Just kidding, I do. This only gets worse from here. Do some research into what Boston Consulting Group calls a cash cow. Then look at what Bain consultants (JD was CEO) do to cash cows. Check out Newt Gingrich’s PAC’s fantastic hit piece on Mitt Romney’s time at Bain from the 2012 Republican presidential primary. This is Nike’s future and it’s only just beginning.

THIS. Any relief is temporary with the new corporate habit of ongoing rolling layoffs ad infinitum. It's not a bug, it's a feature of late-stage capitalism!
