Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Productivity

What’s the un calculated cost to productivity of dragging out this process? The amount of time, energy, stress, anxiety, fear, panic diverted from working is staggering. It’s all everyone is thinking and talking about. No one is thinking “hey how can I improve XYZ?” It’s just a constant state of anxiety followed by periodic times of panic. It’s talking with coworkers about who got let go and how to deal with the stress. This has got to be very costly and have deep, longstanding ramifications. Ripple effects for a while.

I bet 15 min of work, comes in the side door too. And even spaces out after lunch too.

Dear "I do 15 min of work everyday", Thanks from your coworkers whom you are really sc--wing over because you have decided not to do what you were hired for and what you gladly take a pay check for. Now they not only have to live in fear of the lay off but have to pick up the slack with all the work you have decided not to do. I am sure they are hoping you get laid off also.

Do you know how much the US has lost in productivity, media resources, created anxiety, fear, frustration, concerning the political scene in the last few years because a con man got into office that still walks free because the checks and balances are slow, inefficient and bent to the nth degree? The damage done to the country? Not to mention the forever tax cuts for people that could care less to invest their advantage tax wise to create jobs? Perhaps in the trillions of dollars. Nike seems to be no exception but in a smaller scale. The process of lay offs is bordering mental torture and cruelty in my opinion and adds to the general mental state the country is experiencing today! A cluster F of crazy! Hopefully someday we will get pass this and start enjoying life once more.

Yes! Before Nike lay off me, I went ahead and I did lay off Nike! "I" decided my severance package to start from December when JD emailed on Christmas about layoffs. I go to work every day and swipe my badge and do 15 minutes of work every day! I even had my mid year CFRvreview with my manager and she was extremely pleased with my performance. I had to try really hard keep it to gather in that meeting and not laugh loud! That just shows me how clueless everyone is in our department. Yeah I made Nike pays me Severance from Dec until May! Take control of your life

This layoff was very poorly executed with so much uncertainty. This is the time to learn from FAANG, how they execute mass layoff in a minute and look at considerable amount of pain to other fellow employees being subsided. Very surprising to see the new CTO having so much experience with a giant background handling it horribly.
