He is in Enterprise Architecture in core location and has a 1 on 1 meeting with title "Upcoming Org. Updates" setup for next Tuesday 9 AM. What do you all think this is for? updating all team-wide re-org changes or for a layoff notice ?

The nonsensical meeting schedule Is a weak attempt at misdirection. Somebody is getting canned.
So team updates meetings aren't necessarily one on one. Multiple people on team have same time but there are 2 or more sessions-- almost by time zone.
It doesn't make sense.
“Commander Cody, the time has come. Execute Order 66.”
I’m in the know.
Just got my "Team Update" invite for next week. And it's a 1x1 near as I can tell vs. the typical team meeting of "we're being moved to X". If it happens it happens.
EA -- Upcoming Org Updates. Surprisingly, you don't know what it is about. Shows that the "efficiency" plan is not architected. Yet another example of what a cluster F this bank is. I am sure EA is being off-shored. Indians have convinced HY that their digital bank model is superior. You have documented where all the "sources of record" are. Feed that into their AI model and voila -- you have a new reengineered risk-free system.
I’ve used this meeting title to displace. Has all the ingredients for a Displacement Tuesday…get the bad news around 9am, get 2 hours to wind down, pack your things, and gtfo by the 11am badge and ad-ent cutoff.
As noted EA will be broken up and federated back to the LOB tech areas. I also heard of staffing cuts in EA which apparently TK wanted last year but didn’t happen. Changes are supposed to happen in March but it appears some people have already been moved.
Honestly I’ve never seen anyone given that much potential notice, so prob innocuous. They like to spring displacement on you quick, like a fun little game they play.
Could be either.
There's a reorg coming to EA (which he should know about).
Also there are going to be big layoffs in EA.
doesn't sound good, but hope it's legit org update...some people rec'd meeting invites with that meeting title and it was a layoff....please keep us posted. good luck
1:1 Meeting - check
Vague Meeting Title - check
Tuesday after a pay day - check
Does an expendable job function - check
I could be wrong, but it doesn't sound good. Source: Occam's razor - would leaders call 40 people one at a time to let them know they now 'dotted line' to Sally while Jimmy 'takes care of a personal matter'.
Sounds like a merciful manager trying to tip their hand TBH.
