Badge in/out

Is anyone just badging in and immediately out and not gotten into trouble? I have to do the couple of times next week, so checking…
I will get a lot of flak for this but I don’t have an option…

For what it’s worth, an old peer of mine was part of this pilot last year where their leadership received a report reflecting average hours per week in office. I think anything less than 6 hours in office negatively skewed the results. That was several months ago, and what I saw seemed challenging to roll out broadly.

I’ve witnessed a few people badge in and not even enter the suite. They just immediately leave. One person is in my business and has been doing it for 8 months now. I’m assuming they haven’t gotten in trouble since they’re still doing it.

Hot budget saving tip: stop tracking all together and based reviews on actual production / performance, not irrelevant box checking BS.

They ARE TRACKING, both by card swipes and by IP addresses when you log in. Anyone thinking you can get around the rules is deluding themselves. Just had someone TERMINATED two wells ago for this very thing.
Note, TERMINATED not DISPLACED!!

Badge in, log on to network from laptop... That establishes you are in office.

THEY ARE NOT TRACKING WHEN YOU LEAVE

Make sure you log into the network then drink a free coffee, then go home.

I no longer work at the company but I can share with you that they have the capability to merge the badge in/out times/locations with your internal and external logons for any timeframe. HR has had that for about a couple of years now and I prototyped it about 4 years ago. There was only a few people in the entire company that actually regularly looked at it for domestic workers. Fast forward and they have an incentive to look at that for a myriad of reasons. Follow the guidelines they set or don't

If you’re going to office to badge in why not stay 4 hrs. Not that difficult or it easier to not actually do any work at home.
It’s the attitude of many people on this forum that is causing jobs to go to India, not that they do any better just doing the minimum cheaper

LOL. Some of these comments are hilarious. Everybody hates RTO and trying to come up with creative methods to avoid it. I don't blame them at all. These companies are so evil.

I used to get hot cocoa as one of my benefits, but is not being stocked anymore so I’m just struggling so hard!

Before 2008, I would have great trips on the company dime. Sonoma, wine country.

Now, I don’t have that so it’s just my hot cocoa and it’s not happening right now, so bye bi--hes!

So weird how the benefits have changed to 5 star resort to trying to get some cocoa!

It’s strange because this is a multi billion dollar company, with $1 trillion in assets!

I badge in around 11:30pm login to WAV, read the news for 15min, logout and go sit in the car for 30 min then back for a few min at 12:15am. 2 days down, and saved 4 hours of driving. Then 4 hours one other day and no issues so far. Went from 60hrs/week to <30. I call it the FCS tax. They lost the benefit of a productive remote employee for many years. Can’t have it both ways.

I am going by the rule which my manager told me, current RTO rules are in the office 4 days per week for a minimum of 4 hours each day you’re in the office.

My exec doesn’t e en stay a full day. Why should we?

There would be way too many edge cases to account for in tracking time.

It’s a huge company - they need a one size fits all report

…and we were notified that even though our group has been in the office, if they keep having to track all this via reporting because other groups don’t RTO, they are already saying they will change it to 5 days per week instead of 3 days to save reporting time/people.

I hang around for an 1-2 hours before badging out, have not had any issues. I do not do the immediate in/out, however.

They look at badge-ins. They also look at LAN access. Many offices don't require or are unable to track badge-out (Uptown Charlotte), but they are tracking it in HR and senior leaders get the reports. They aren't setting a minimum time in office YET, but it's being talked about.

Those are Drive-Through swipes - known and trackable by your Manager.

You do have an option. Ask someone in the office in person. Total jrk for asking here.

No. If I make the effort to go in I just work in the office. I suppose if you're only a few miles away from the office you could, but why? Plus, managers might be closely monitoring but supposedly HR is and who knows how they actually count stuff.
