Any talks about striking, saw this thread and got excited that we may have a work stoppage. About time CWA grew a set, been going backwards for years and now that Stumbling Joe has been in office, inflation is unprecedented. Time to get our fair share of the profits, we essentially don’t have a bonus anymore since they tied it to the ship anchor of a stock. Randall & Stankey have driven below scary.

“ Why even bring this stuff on here. According to the union, the company is always unfair and negotiating in bad faith. This "sit down at the table" BS is so 50 years ago. Nobody cares about the woke whiners in the West region. You'll make your little noise and do your little dance and get your new contract eventually and life will go on.”

You would be correct, the company is unfair and negotiates in bad faith, way beyond contract expiration. Always regressive positions, want to do away with most benefits and lower pay. They have already gutted benefits for techs of the future and done away with a pension, post 2015, have a small match in the cash balance, reduced sick time to 5 days max, severance, etc…

….and leadership from both sides of the fence told us in advance that it would only last 3 days. Apparently it wasn’t a big secret.

Big talk from the union slugs, but won’t walk the talk. They’ll be crying after they’re out for 4 days…..you’re not worth the aggravation to T anymore….bye bye

Right
No one cares about the West Coast
Except for bottom line
West Coast network is equal in size as rest of network put together
That is revenue
That was only reason SBC bought PacBell
It’s stock was up and income good
Then SBC bought AmeriTech
That was a donkey
Then the beast started eating itself
Multimedia?
Joke
Tmoble flop
Maybe one day T-Mobile buys T?

mobility all dispatch from home

I would like to know why Out-of-region technicians aren't allowed to dispatch from home while in-region technicians can dispatch from home and end their day from home? I believe there's a VP with a mission trying to make a ridiculous statement! It makes no sense at all because it's not a company wide mandate. If in-region techs can dispatch from home, then OOR techs should be able to as well or vice-versa!

Oh we knew what kind of strike it was because AT&T had bargained in bad faith. Of course it was only 3 days but the company knew it could have escalated to way more than that when nearly 99.9% of union members walked. They changed the labor team too so, it wasn’t all kosher as you want to make it out. Don't be so quick to pat your smug self on the back, we will walk for much longer, Count on it!! All I can say is to practice your climbing, hope your legs are as strong as your jaw muscles. Of course you are probably one of the privileged sycophants that will be an arm chair warrior while your fellow RTO and relocation co-workers have to do the heavy lifting.

We don’t have an issue with most middle to lower level management, it’s with the c-suite and Stankey who are making regressive proposals. They can kiss our assets!

Ah Yes, the ready and waiting contractor army. Even so present, year, after year, after year. They wait so patiently, so skillfully and with the finances that allow them sit idly by until the time they are called upon by AT&T to launch in and break the Union.

AT&T cannot hire contractors that don't need babysitting.

Some of you people need a dose of reality. Please continue though, it is entertaining.

“Hey West, SE D3 here, we’ve got your back. Our contract expires in August. We had a work stoppage last contract, didn’t last long because the company did a 180 and scrambled a new Labor team, the regressive BS stopped and we settled soon after. More things need addressed this time including better cash balance match, COLA, job security, continuing work division, address healthcare and wage increase.”
Both sides of the fence knew it was going to be a 3 day strike before the 1st foot stepped out the door. Perhaps your U management’s local leadership team failed to inform you of this.
The best way for all of us to have each others’ back is to have a unified contract date but obviously the U management team wants no part of unifying their union.

You can really tell how much the union cares about the customer come contract time. Then, once the contract is settled, they run around screaming about how much they care about the customer and how bad the company is. Clowns man. Pathetic clowns that can’t evolve and move out of the 20th century.

You might have to opportunity sooner than later to see what it is all about. You will be far from home. You will see how much AT&T values you.

Tell us ALL about it when we are asked to work "2 extra" at the end of our shift when those same ticket came in around noon the same day.

It matters not. You think the Union is full of clowns?? Management is being replaced by Satish and friends. They make 10 cents on the Dollar of your salary and you feel wronged. I get it, I would too.

Many of the the Union employees know where their bread is buttered, (CUSTOMERS). We will hold the the company accountable. Enough with the regressive contracts. "leadership" knows how to go 135 Billion dollars in debt but magically shows FCF of 16 billion YOY.

I can see the contingency force now with their feet up watching training videos on how not to get injured or ki-led while working on the network. Feel sorry for those that are forced into it because at some point they will be expected to work actual tickets.

Hope no one gets seriously injured or worse because recently, we’ve had a couple of experienced techs die on the job. One was in Georgia and I believe another in Indiana, wouldn’t want to see it happen to one of the unexperienced and untrained. Of course the company thinks you are trained by watching a few videos these days.

LOL, that’s so funny. The company master contractors can’t even keep unskilled subs now to complete fiber overlay or bury new fiber cables. They are using illegals, I know because most can’t even speak english, usually only their boss. It’s taking forever to build out the network. Would love to see them fill thousands of skilled positions.

You think the feds are looking at AT&T now because of one small outage. Wait until there are multiple major outages and customers are screaming about their service not being maintained or installed. Election year, candidates will be swoop in like flys to a dog pile. I don’t think company execs want that kind of exposure and pressure.

Union is toast. Stay out who cares…you’ll be replaced by contractors. Don’t believe it ? Show you have guts and stay out ……yeah that’s what we all thought, you won’t put your money where your mouth is. Company giggles at your tiny hubris and knows the union is weak and will negotiate benefits , jobs and pay away. Your clock is ticking…

Yes, I will stay out for months if the company wants to be regressive next contract.

Now, let us dispose of your immediate concern. Post ID: @1vvq+1rlFnF40

Keep trying to work from home. Try to RTO but Sandeep in India will have your job soon. Su-ks for you.
Replaced by contractors?? Your job is being replaced by Indians for 10 cents on the dollar. It is happening NOW and there is nothing you can do about it except lash out at those who have an employment contract.

You should direct your anger at the "good" people that have placed AT&T into over 100 BILLION dollars in debt.

You must think the company cares about customers. They do not, only profits.

I can tell you that the Union craft employees care a lot about maintaining and restoring service 24/7/365. AT&T does not anymore. Pathetic clowns ..

I hope to see you or someone like you on CP 2025 duty. I was kind to the two lady's from finance that the company sent to work in the Central office last CP duty. It was a vacation for them. I made sure of that.

S T F U troll.

We care far more than the company that's why most of us do try keeping service up. There are only so many hours in the day and only so many callouts and OT worked before you realize you're sacrificing your time away from family to save the company a few bucks.

You only wish that after all you have done for this company, you had half the job protection that the Union dregs have.

I'm sorry. Randy and Stankey have made some very bad decisions with other peoples money. They cannot fire enough "management" employees fast enough to pay down BILIIONS of debt.

Same ole "management" horseshat .

Now RTO and like it!!!

Let the contingency force handle it, the company obviously doesn’t care about the employees with their regressive negotiations, there will be a strike in less than 38 days. We will see how this phantom contingency force handles it and how important the disparaged bargained employee really is, can’t off-shore those that touch the network. Biden & Trump will be visiting the Union soon, when we strike.

I agree, the company has been sending out a yearly DEI email stating how proud they are to discriminate against mostly straight white males. The under represented is now over represented according to demographics. The relocation plan is also against the older employees. This company cares more about culture issues than taking care of business and selecting the best person for a position. Massive layoffs are a result of poor leadership, their failed policies and decisions.

The Labor Director isn’t the only one suing for age discrimination, there are more. You don’t see these in the news because they will get settled out of court. One has to search to find the past and current lawsuits.

“Nationwide.
Union members work in the extreme elements only to have the company take back every contract year. If they want a skeleton crew they get skeleton crew response when there are outages.”

The U management team agrees to these take backs every contract year. The blame doesn’t lay solely at the feet of T.

Hey company trolls, the company lost to the union because they didn’t fulfill their part. Don’t tell us how virtuous the company is when they couldn’t hold up their end of the contract. Why do you think there has been a moratorium on outside tech layoffs going on 3 years now?

Bargained employees want a fair piece of the pie like everyone else. Time for the elite to move on from the 19th century, acting like the robber barons of old with their regressive negotiations.

CWA bargainers, now is the time to take a page out of the UAW playbook and don’t play games. If the company won’t bargain in good faith walk away and don’t return until they show serious proposals that don’t involve take backs. Start paying members union time to come to the hall and train for strike duty, it’s been done in the past. Don’t wait till the contract expires to grow a set.

This might be the push to remove the current Leadership. More outages will occur and probably more frequently due to massive headcount reductions. There is a huge knowledge and talent base drain. Young talent will get a little experience then, move on.

How are the negotiations proceeding? Is the company still negotiating in bad faith? I see they fired one of the Labor Directors who is now suing for age discrimination. Time for CWA to involve the press and politicians, it is an election year. The public is behind unions and fair contracts, not reducing benefits and off-shoring.
