(Is what it is, not bitc#ing about it.) What days are you going in? I go in pretty much every day due to my line of work but the rest of my section was told to come in any three days of their choosing. How about you?

How was your first day in the office?
I didn’t like the commute this morning, such a waste of time.
My department is m-w-f, I’ll be honest, I like slacking off on Fridays, especially in the summer and have spent the last 3 summers doing most of my Friday work from the boat. Anyway, another team here is Tues-Thur, so I asked my manager friend if they had positions for me as I preferred to work from home on Fridays. He told me that I shouldn’t change just for that, the plan is to go back to 5 days/week in early 2025, we would do it now but we don’t have enough office space. Sigh.
Going to flex based on meetings & how crazy it seems. My group got assigned to a building that isn’t ready yet (RIC) so won’t be starting this for real until April but have been using Rotunda Center… that’s going to be fun on Tuesday…

We were told twt...but I will go in when collaboration is necessary. What can they do?
Our group has been given some flexibility. Mainly if there is a certain week you only would want to come in one day, you would need to come in 4 days the week prior (must be the prior week, can't be like 3 weeks prior). Similarly for 2 days a week. Also, if there is a holiday for a given week, you only need to come in two days that week. But if the holiday spans two weeks, you can chose what week to only come in one day (you can't use both weeks to come in only one day.
We were told we had to do Tuesday-Thursday.
