If you don't want to adapt to change or be ready to compete with others then is time to get a government job.

Gov't jobs are notoriously slow to be filled. It's hard to get into one for the first time due to some "points" or "priority" program where current and prior employees have "points" or "higher priority" for openings than people coming in completely new. Veterans also have a higher preference.

You can be the best, most qualified person for that job, but if a current gov't employee or prior employee applies and is "qualified", then they get selected over you. And if it was a current employee, then their job gets posted months later and you might get considered for it.

That's why so many people like/want gov't jobs. Once you get in, it's almost impossible to get fired. You can't be made to work overtime. And, if you're in a non-public facing role, you have a "window" where your day starts & ends, and lunch meetings are forbidden, so meetings are hard to coordinate with all the required attendees, so you have 1/2 your day as avail for meetings and 1/2 your day for working, but you can't work on something until the decisions are made, but the meeting isn't for 2 weeks because you can't get all the decision makers in the same meeting at the same time.

It's a lot harder to get a government job than you think.

In some agencies, they only hire top talent that is willing to take low pay.

Most like to diss gov employees, but most of you have no clue about the skill level that exists ... like in intelligence.

Good Luck
