Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Where are we at with layoffs?

Reorganization, downsizing and move to the hubs are just stealth massive layoffs. The only thing they put real thought into is how to distribute and perform group layoffs without having to file WARN. I would love to know where we’re at with numbers at this point. And who in their right mind would pick up family and life to move to a hub only to lose a job half a year or a year later. Which is, ofc, what they’ve been counting on.

Looks like I will be impacted in April or May (L2 based in Dallas with 3 years under my belt). Wonder what kind of severance package I will receive. Assuming 6 weeks using 2 weeks for each year of service?

"23 years is a great record. You must have built up a lot of savings allowing for early retirement if you choose."

Lol yeah you have no clue what you are talking about but go ahead.

There are some very insensitive company trolls on this site. They laugh and make light of others misfortune, kind of feel sorry for them that they are so in need of help but are unaware.

I know it’s the same nimrod that posts this every time a long term employee posts about being laid off. Why do you get your jollies from this? It’s strange. You have no idea what people’s situations are. I’m guessing you’re alone, no dependents, no life. Lonely probably.

“Will get his packet in mid-late April and be done the 2nd week of May just shy of 23 yrs.”

The move inconsistency is almost unbelievable. Some directors have been given clear instructions to move FROM Atlanta to Dallas while other Directors are NOT in a hub and their people have to move and their peers but they do not.
How do some people (directors) get to be on a non hub location?

OP. Why bother putting a “?” at the end of your statement.

I just posted on the other layoff thread if you want to read the longer story but after 10 months of being told there is an option to move my husband was completely surplused today. Will get his packet in mid-late April and be done the 2nd week of May just shy of 23 yrs. He's getting sc--wed out of an insane amount of pension $$ too by not making it to 30 years, even 25 yrs is a lot more than what he'll be getting. But we weren't going to be moving anyway but funny how they sold it as that and then told everyone in his division today "oh sorry, no option to move now". They did say they can apply for other jobs but of course they are all in TX and GA.
