Sorry to hear about the benefits cut at the new place. That has always been one of the risks of being in a business unit that didn't bring in enough money. You can't offset the lack of revenue with other high performing product lines anymore.

Don't feel bad though. It's about to happen to all of us when the Biden Harris administration outlaws all the junk fees we've been charging.

I was very lucky to be laid off from cyber before the big joint venture with WillJam. Thank you God. <3

@1euq+1rpIEZnF My good friend was part of that rebadging and yes, he was out of a job in less than a year. Came back as a contractor for another 10.

Not true.

Not happening soon. Delayed by months now. The hope is that it closes in the coming days but now all employees will stay with AT&T until they figure out the dumpster fire of access to critical application and data.

Not the same as the IBM story. There are no employees at the new firm to "learn the jobs" and then take over. We are going to live in someone's basement for awhile and try to figure things out. That's what many of us are being told.

On the bright side, we got the benefits information. Massive cuts from T benefits while raising the cost of healthcare by like 3x. No more pension funding and less of a 401K match to boot.

Anyone else excited about this wonderful new joint venture?

Several years back AT&T Labs outsourced computer operations to IBM, and rebadged all the T employees; Friday they had an AT&T badge, Monday, sitting at same desk, an IBM badge. Because they were rebadged, no severance. Employment with IBM lasted about a year until tenured 'IBM employees' learned their jobs. The award to IBM wouldn't have been so lucrative if IBM had to add to their own employee headcount. This repeats itself over and over as companies outsource, not unique to T.

They can’t, it’s a security breach.

For most, the new employment status will last a year.
