Does anyone else think it is ironic that CHRO is talking about "Civility and Openness" in the workplace at SxSW this weekend while Dell is laying off thousands of people and demanding that we sit in an office so they know we are working? Where is the trust and openness in that?
Is is civil to fire thousands of people while you line your fat pockets? Is it civil to make people declare themselves remote or hybrid so you can deny raises and hope that they'll leave...is it civil to hire too many people during the pandemic so now you decide to fire them...instead of taking less profits? Maybe you should be fired because you made a pi-s poor decision to hire too many? Maybe we should all show up and demand real civility...Check out the panel here at 1:30 for more information: https://events.fastcompany.com/grill_2024
