Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

So, basically a months of turmoil and anxiety ahead of us

I may actually be satisfied if laid off. Who needs that stress? And it will push me to move on.

Don't sacrifice yourself for this company. Let's think about this. The execs have laid off the enterprise architecture team. The EA is the first step in the systems development life cycle. Now when new or enhanced tech is needed, who will they go to? Who is going to design the tech? Who will see how the design integrates with the rest of the system?
The choices are:

  1. outside EA
  2. offshored EA
  3. AI agents

WF hasn't gone outside for EA work -- only when they get in trouble.
I believe they will go to 2 and 3. Welcome your service now AI agents.
If you are a grunt coder your time is limited. Whether you want to stay or leave you need to learn how to use AI to generate and/or reengineer code. Do this if you want to stay competitive.

Yes, the layoff will continue until the morale improves.

When I was laid off in August it was as if a large boulder was lifted off of me. I viewed it as a gift to help push me in a better direction

A month? It's been going for years, and will continue for at least 2-3 more.

No....you use that time to seek new employment while working to convince advisors and clients to leave. Wells Fargo is a pestilence and anyone who has moral compass should work to leave the firm Those who remain are not quality people.
