Every single one of us should be actively interviewing

Not just submitting applications to feel out the job market, but actively looking for something else. Unless you're a masochist and enjoy being treated like cr-p and mentally tortured all the time. Because those are the only people who can still be happy with their jobs here.

Exactly. Until Charlie pulls the rip cord on the golden parachute, he will keep destroying the US workforce. It's literally all he knows how to do. He won't stop until the headcount is down to executives and a small number of necessary lackies in Hudson Yards. Someone has the get the mail, after all. All the rest of us will be gone.

Make the best decision for you and your family. Jobs come and go, and don't think that location layoffs is the end. Charles is coming for you at core locations too, this is phase 1.

You can't control corporate layoffs. Used to think only the "bad people" get laid off. Throw that our the window!

Wait. You can only be "mentally tortured" if you let "them" get to you.
For those at WF that are actively quitting:

  1. upskill yourself. This does not mean doing the lame "develop you" courses. Rather the Pluralsight (if still offered) and other courses. If not offered go to Udemy and other websites (youtube, X)
  2. If more than 5 years of your career are left you need to learn all things AI
  3. personal use (copilot and other generative AI bots).
  4. job function used in management (how AI models are used to generate models, how to control processes with AI agents (ServiceNow), and risk management with AI)
  5. job function use if tech coder (how to use data to generate AI models, how to use AI to generate code)
  6. use AI to find your next position at WF or next job outside of WF

Its a race. Your Indian counterparts are pushing AI banking models on your management. Looks like they may have succeeded at round 1. Note that you are closer to the customer than they are, Use that to your advantage. The US workforce should push back.

A couple of thoughts:. Wells is like a wounded animal that no one wants to euthanize. There is also an opportunity to steer potential clients away from the firm. These folks ruined millions of lives in the various scandals and should have been shut down so I see an obligation to remind clients and advisors of that fact.
