Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Break the shackles

Free yourself folks. It’s really freeing not to have to worry about being silenced, afraid to speak to superiors, afraid of retaliation, the collusion, and every crime each & everyone is committing to just keep their job. The mental abuse from the lies, the manipulation and back stabbing ends the day you quit being afraid of just walking away.

You need to read your history, pre and post union. A laundry list of items accomplished for all workers including non bargained.

A lot of you have been "tithing" to the CWA for over 20 years and thousands of dollars. What have you gotten in return? Zero/Zilch/Nada

Folks corporate leaders, politicians and religious leaders all share the exact same trate......greed and narcism. If you go look at studies on this topic it is a proven fact that it only takes seven years to fully corrupt. Power and money will make people do things they never thought were possible. All these leaders are cut from the exact cloth! Please go read some literature on this topic and I think you all walk away with a better understanding.

I would say 90% of people believe in intelligent design just for the fact they need to believe in something. Or it helps them through the day because they live life scared. Come on man how can anybody believe in something they can't see, talk to or feel. It is just common sense that you should not believe in something like this. Also I know the Bible is a fraud because the last version says King James. Hmmmm let me guess it was rewritten by this ruler named (King James) to control the masses and clean out some wallets. You cant really be that gullible. Trust me I use to be a believer until I hit the age of reason around 13.

Well, there was a time when the overwhelming majority thought the world was flat.

You’re in good company “majority man” (or woman). Keep up the good work!

Give it up, you’re an atheist we get it, move on. This is a layoff site, not for your superiority complex, pat yourself on the back then, get over yourself. Most people have only 90 yrs or less to find out and the overwhelming majority choose to believe in intelligent design.

Nobody is perfect but there are people out there that apply common sense to a situation. These are typically people with higher IQs. We believe in data and facts that why we are certain the Bible and the people leading the churches are frauds.

The “grievance” as you put it was stating the obvious that our human condition drives all of us and was in response to someone else placing religion on the pedestal yet again (like you did).

The intent wasn’t to slam religion but spotlight that the same human condition that created religion (and the abuses that can come from this collection of humans) also drives the poor behaviors leading to layoffs.

But thanks for taking the opportunity to pitch your religious storyline on the layoff site. And, by the way, the historical proof you claim is just witness to when humans created the concept itself (or, more appropriately, evolved it from when alternate versions were previously created).

Be kind when you can.

This isn’t the forum to air grievances against religion or you challenging its validity. Take it somewhere else and be kind. It’s called faith and belief based on historical documents of eye witness accounts, archaeology that proves it and one’s own experiences.

Let’s focus on layoffs and the causes that has driven the company to such drastic measures from a complicit BOD & c-suite.

Regarding the tithing comment, I really hope you’re not that gullible. At the end of the day, it’s just driven by the human condition. People will be people. A church is just another corporate structure selling something that doesn’t pay taxes and for some strange reason is put on a pedestal.

Be kind when you can.

It has nothing to do with religion, it’s survival.

I mean I make a really good wage. But my dept. OSP Engineer is really short staffed at the moment and it’s Very stressful. I’m applying to local utility companies but outside of that it’s difficult to get a reasonable wage around here. A lot of people in this world only love themselves and their money and that is just how it is. Try and find some good people.

I take umbrage with your religious remark, poor analogy, it isn’t prevalent like the secular business world. Congregations tithe according to the scriptures and are blessed for it, what the leader does with it is his/her responsibility and is accountable to God. There is a reckoning for them at the end of the day. The same cant be said for an employee/executive relationship.

You will all loose your jobs at some point just because you’re witnesses. AT&T employees need to start notifying the FTC, FBI, EEOC & the EEOC. The AT&T compliance line refers ALL complaints to the department’s to be handled. Case closed resolved. End of story & the employee gets piped out. CWA works for AT&T, not employees. You already know it & turn a blind eye deal with it or do something.

The main reason why there is no accountability at that level is they get paid today vs deferred option 5 years from now. They are also very masterful at getting all their buddies on the board so they can hand out salary and bonuses to each other. How many companies have been ruined and the people at the bottom pay the price. It's sad but truthful. Keep in mind it's not only corporations doing this look at some of these mega churches. Breaking the backs of the congregations for tithing while the Pastors is worth hundreds of millions.
