Slack goes down with users reporting they are unable to send or receive messages on the popular communication platform
The team-based messaging platform was offline Monday evening
Outage-tracking site Downdetector received hundreds of reports from users
The blackout is the latest in a series of outages across social media platforms
Slack later issued a statement at 6:04 pm confirming the outage which sparked fury from users on social media.
'We're investigating issues users are having with sending and loading messages, including threads,' read an update posted to the Slack Status website. 'We'll be back with an update as soon as we know more.'
Another update was posted at 6:30 pm. 'We're still working to identify the root cause of the issue, however, this is isolated to workspaces with International Data Residency (IDR) enabled,' it read.
