It’s bad enough that we have to work with low performers who don’t have the same consequences that stateside teams do. But now we are getting blamed for their low performance. That was the last straw for me.

Stop blaming the Indian Colleagues. What you describe is what they could say of us but don’t. Maybe you need to also learn the culture if you are able. Everyone who wants to sound off about the Indians, realize that you are racist , don’t even say that you aren’t , just read your words. So just collect your membership cards.
WF decided to move work overseas. It’s our job to manage that work and make sure it hits all the check points as if we were dealing with IBM, Microsoft or any other US based vendor. So put on your big person pants and do your job.

You can’t blame the folks in India. They are just trying to get ahead. The problem is with WF and the US in general sending American job overseas. Virtue signaling and DEI have led to the destruction of meritocracy and an America last mentality.

The offshore resources in my area only work until 11:00 eastern time. That’s so convenient when I have to schedule meetings! God forbid as them to work a half hour longer.

One of my assigned offshore resources didn’t complete a single story point. It took more than 6 months to get rid of him while he did nothing. My current resources always wait until the last minute to do their work and then expect stateside to burn the midnight oil to help them. The consequence of waiting until the last minute is that quality suffers profoundly. For any given story they complete they will introduce 3 stories worth of hidden bugs. They have a huge cultural problem regarding performance, deadline, and quality (even books have been written about it). Don’t even get me started about how often they are on a holiday or are on leave.

@wrq+1rvsiMIG I doubt you have ever replaced an "offshore" I or P.
The main problem with offshoring is that the manager loose control over the process. You can document the short comings of the "offshore" I or P and report it -- but its like p..sng into the wind.

We are begging to back fill with US resources because we need people that can get work done independently. Keep getting told no it has to be an India hire. The Indians can’t get work done on time or within the quality needed. Can barely follow well documented processes. US based Indians are not part of this criticism.

All this hate and vitriol. Why hasn’t this energy been used to document the short comings and report it? If your retort is “we did!” then you didn’t do it high enough. If your +1 does nothing then you go +2, +3, + whatever with FACTS until they get replaced and you are CYA.

I pull zero punches at work. I will stand in front of any colleague who someone else will try to berate for making a good choice but any colleague who makes bad choices I will document, call out and get it on file as being a deficiency. That person is then trained, and retrained unofficially and if no improvement then the official processes begin.

Excise the cancer yourself.
