Tech Control Layoffs?

Anyone know if they happening? No new hiring in a long time. Central teams are being shrunk. What will happen in Tech Controls????

We've been using Archer for the entire time I have been at Wells. It's not new.

Good luck with automating that. You would need an army of competent developers and not just a smattering of questionably skilled offshore developers. All that work is a messy moving target that doesn't work even with manual processes . Whoever takes that on is going to quit and jump ship and those positions will be a perpetual revolving door.

Appears that they are automating risk management with the Archer,GRC framework.
Offshoring is definitely on the table. First saw a job in India with these specs: -- everything begins in India now!

  • Java Script/API integration skills
  • Ability to integrate Archer with other systems such as Tableau/Power BI etc using API
  • Strong knowledge of all the configuration/development areas of RSA Archer, GRC

Now, what is Archer, GRC?

Archer, GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance): Archer is a popular platform used for managing governance, risk, and compliance activities within organizations. It provides a framework for assessing, mitigating, and managing various types of risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Then do a search "wells fargo" "archer grc". Some US-based guys but mostly Indian people.
I hope they can integrate this with the Wells Fargo gateway.

After J.B leaves T c, it will be split and merged with IRM.

Look at current job listings in India and you will find your answer

Controls activity seems to be increasing in many parts of tech. However, that doesn't mean that offshoring is off the table. I don't think controls will be very eager when they whittle the team down to nothing. Extra work for controls is no guarantee of anything. I would prepare and expect reductions for the next few quarters.
