Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Why is everyone being investigated?

Current BAT seller here. Why does it seem like everyone is being suspended, fired, investigated, or have resigned? People are being investigated for the smallest things? Almost afraid to even sell. Heck I feel like I need to have weekly calls with my customers to make sure they are using their phones.

You will be terminated for falsely coding INFOR that you are working when really you are p00ping. Also, the cost for you using excess TP shall be deducted from your last paycheck.

Now after all these years and when they want to cut sales payroll they’re going to do something about the fraud. They allowed fraud and even caused it without directly ordering It to be done. Just so bad and wrong on all levels. Next and insurance are auto added to every line at corporate wireless stores. Buyer beware you’ll be robbed of your money. Audit your bills after any interaction with ATT.

I know someone who was fired last year for conflict of interest. He was let go for selling to someone he knew.

In sales the first people you sell to are the people you know.

Pretty stupid if you ask me.

It’s very simple. They investigate and find one issue even small. It’s enough for them to cut you. Meaning no surplus package. I know if you are suspended you are already out.
Could be anything, straight sho-ter or not, all that is needed is one survey these days. I know of three close friends. Different departments, Bat, retail and FirstNet. All started in retail.

Ask ChatGPT what AT&T plans are for this year and it said layoffs and etc.

Hello, I am a Bat seller and I was just told I was suspended. No reason was given and my manager told me they don’t know why. For the record, I’m a straight sho-ter, no fraud sales here.so now I’m at home and have no idea what’s going on. I was told AP would call to schedule for an interview. COU and laptop are gone.

Is this a serious post? They are investigative everyone and I mean everyone. Just like the forced relocations of last year where they know no one in their right mind will move out of the house where they are paying a 3% APR mortgage and into an overpriced house in Dallas. It is forced attrition. Put enough people on warnings, do enough CIA-style interrogations where Asset Protection sits down for hours pouring over every account they accessed in OPUS, and you will get enough people who will just up and leave. Don't you guys see? T wants all corporate sales to be outsourced to Solution Providers. The Alliance Channel budget tripled this year while the direct teams are being sla-ghtered.

There is so much fraud in business mobility and fiber sales they would literally have to let 75% of the people go if they actually audited them. No sure how most sleep at night knowing that any minute they could be done….

According to people, Ray got investigated because he knew one of his managers was doing some shady stuff. That’s what I’ve heard

Who buys a phone and doesn't use it? Who in their right mind believes a phone was purchased to not be used? It is impressive the amount of times T employees try to insult our intelligence. Wait, someone bought an iPhone 14 for $5.99 a month and has no problem spending $6 additional dollars for up and $17 for insurance? The only people believing your nonsense is you. Good riddance.

Such a bullsh-t excuse that it's not your fault the customer didn't use a phone you sold. Who the he-l is going to buy a phone they don't plan on using? All you crooks need to go!

Don't understand the problem.
I sold a RE office 12 phones for the max plan & don't care if they use the tele or Data or Text. I did state 1 price & the billing shows more but that's billing & the customer issues. Fire me, go ahead, dare anyone. I can prove age discrimination.
Fire Me if U think U can. P-d.

Fraud has been going on since 2008-2009 on both the wireless and wireline side if not longer. AT&T has looked the other way for over a decade and now with cash flows drying up and failed mergers they need to start producing growth. The days or rerating shared plans and adding tablets to accounts are over. Start truly selling or get out.

FRAUD. that is why. Thankfully AT&T is starting to cull where culling is needed. So much, I mean so much money will be saved when AT&T audits correctly and cleans house.
Did I mention fraud? Just checking.

Been in sales ops since 2013. So many corrupt directors and vps. Each is coated in teflon and manage to survive even when 20% of team being investigated. The key is to say you’re a servant leader and say you will do anything to support the team. Then promote people who break rules to RSM, ARSM and DOS and let them coach new hires to add zero usage lines, DIRECTV, WHP, Digital Life and my personal favorite… Protection!

Ain’t that the truth! Not my fault a customer didn’t use 1 phone I sold them 2 years ago. My coworker was just investigated and suspended for 8 lines of zero usage over the past year and a half.
