They want to grant money for Intel to make chips to spy on everyone.

What is this money for ? A subsidy to somehow create a miracle super chip that will fly off the shelves and be highly in demand from loads of existing and new customers? Or, just more money to help produce chips that will arrive late and that nobody wants !? Unless this money is going to somehow buy new customers which is not even possible, I see no correlation between a big subsidy and Intel getting back to no 1.

This whole Chips Act stuff is a complete nonsense. Smoke and Mirrors dreamed up my a Government Affairs Team that know nothing about our sector with a Government that knows even less !

The Biden administration loaded up the CHIPS Act with so many DEI stipulations that it's ridiculous.

These chipmakers must hire and train the “right number” of women, people of color, and “justice involved individuals” (i.e., “ex-cons). The bill calls for using “minority-owned businesses” and cooperation with ““minority-serving institutions.” There are 19 sections in the legislation dealing with minority groups, including hiring a Chief Diversity Officer at the National Science Foundation to promote national security.

@1vpr+1rxGSD1m, you are spot on. PG made his big bet, the timing was unfortunate, the company couldn’t get turned quickly enough to match the current. $10 billion will prolong the inevitable.

I hate to say it, but it will not be enough. A few billion dollars will not even be close to enough to get Intel back on track. Has anyone looked at the Intel balance sheet lately. This will postpone the inevitable.

why not
we are printing/borrowing 1 trillion every 100 days
all the jobs since 2018 have gone to foreigners in the us
heck just double the grant size
if you are going out, go big
