Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

It was never about the company

I have spent the majority of my career at Wells Fargo, believing that it was about helping the company.
Believing that I could make a differance for Wells Fargo.
I now realize that it was never about Wells Fargo.
The only thing of any real significance was the people I work with.
Wells Fargo with out the people, that put real value in the Company.
Is a Company that is meaning less, without Significance.
All of us will go on and do other things in our lives that will have value and enrich our lives.
It does not matter if the stagecoach fails, or goes into the ditch.
It does not matter at all. It's just buisiness.

Of course not! Who cares about the company? It's all about my career, my authoritative power, my big salary. It's all about me, me, me!

I wonder if the people at VISA ever recovered from S's tenure there.

People are laughing at you but those who have been in a pre chainsaw Charlie wells know you’re right. Wells was amazing at being a global regional bank. You could meet your banker. The person underwriting your mortgage lived in the area. The admin that reached out about your business services actually knew you because they didn’t have to service 9 markets.

Well that’s over now. You’re lucky if your banker is at your branch when you are. The person underwriting your loan smells like curry. The admin that helps with your account hardly even knows your business name.

It sounded foolish but people truly were our competitive advantage

Most states are a right to work. Once you have realized your purpose( in your case well overdue) just resign and find a better work environment. Forget the pay .

It’s always been that way, most hard working folks let themselves get taken advantage of and the management chain all the way up or down knows full well.
I was lucky enough to have a job for 14 years where things went well, ie the company was growing and had potential, once things went south heads roll, lots of people find this out very early on.

I traveled solid, a week a month, for two years for Wells. Left my young kids and family constantly.

Does/Did the company even care about the sacrifice? Nope.

Even funnier, not so funny, I lost a lot of money out of my own pocket doing it.

That is so true. All these naysayers who continue to bash this company have no idea why we are employed here.....
