Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Psychological Safety Is Dead

If you’re not impacted by the layoffs, don’t speak up. Leadership doesn’t want to hear it. Just keep your opinions to yourself, support the goals and objectives, and quiet quit if you must. This isn’t a safe space.

This is true. Don't know whether this is due to L1 / L2 leaders or the CEO herself who is causing more problems making the internal work culture like that. Last 3 years have been extremely tough and it seems that Fidelity is on downward trajectory where nothing is going to work. Lack of promotions to the worthy folks, and now these layoffs - it is becoming horrible to work there. If they do nothing to bring stability back, it is going to be tough for the company as well as for employees. Fidelity is known to be a non-paying employer but stable (this was the image but it is changing - wages are still the same on lower side but no stability) . Some of the recently hired new leaders from other orgs or shuffling bring some c...k heads - who making the place even worse - god save them ..Fidelity needs to stop making those mindless changes that they are doing in the name of being the best digital leader which is far from truth. Hope is that , they'll keep the best talent and make it a best org that it was at one point in time.

I lost my job at Fidelity last week, Ive never experienced a more opaque, secretive, cold and insensitive leadership team in my life. I feel bad for the folks still employed, y’all need to update that resume and get out of Dodge ASAP, this is not your Ned Johnson run Fidelity anymore.
